Somehow millenials get blamed for the worlds problems, when they are just reacting to the world created by Boomers and Gen X

Millenials have not yet been in positions of power in corporate or politics to make any real influence

Truee. We need mandatory retirement for all in Congress.

That we let a bunch of geriatric old fricks with one foot in the grave make policy that they will not have to face the consequence of is outrageous.

I'm not mad and I'm probably younger than you

You're observing a cultural problem related to parenting and a perverted incentive structure to get a degree that yields no skill. That's not an economic problem. Well, the downstream effects are economic but you get what I mean. The ones approaching 40 I do sympathize with a little.

I meant comparing them as equals, because the whole point is that Boomers had it much easier than Gen X, who had it much easier than Gen Y/Millennials

It's a big "no shite" that Boomers had it easier

Good luck getting Boomers and Xers to acknowledge this. Millennials who are between 32-38 got fricked so hard by the recession. We're essentially a lost sub-generation that got left behind. That's why you see so much YOLO from us. Like what do we have to lose? We've lost it all several times and we're still here. Might as well keep on rolling the dice until we hit snake eyes again or win big.

Well that is fricking scary, since most of them have been indoctrinated by the leftist boomers, and they fully intend to institutionalize their Hippie ideas.

I stopped thinking I would rely on social security and 401ks a long time ago and have begun dumping more money into more rental units.

We had the CDC and FedGov eliminate evictions for a year. Rental properties became much more risky when that happened and no one questioned it IMO.

The economy no longer makes rational sense anymore.
Direct result of printing money and inflation bubbles. Real returns are hard to find, so the risk required to generate a return goes up.

Once upon a time one could generate returns from a savings account, then, it was junk bonds, then it was equities, now it’s NFTs and other fringe pursuits. Clear progression toward higher risk requirements to generate the same returns.

Oddly the millinial generation strongly supports political proponents and policies that are causing their financial headwinds.

Millenials have only now started to have a voting impact. The issues talked about in this thread started years ago before millenials hardly voted.

Might be another few years but everything will work itself out. If you were a loser pre Covid you’re still going to be a loser.

It seems to be about the people who have been successful and with the increase in wealth due to covid, are deciding to make moves and take more risk.

Seems a little silly. Many millennials went to school, got good jobs, got married, bought a house, etc like people have always done.

My number #1 reason why I have limited sympathy for younger Millennials and Zers. They are repeating the mistakes they claim to hate. On top of that they want to tax away all of their own inheritance. Can't fix stupid I guess.

Also our labor force is 35% people choosing not to work. How am I supposed to hate the system that works so well for the majority of people with that reality?

Unicorn. No such animal! Millennials have low work ethic and the entitled generation that is coming out now has none. Almost not hireable.

Wat? Millennials are working longer hours than previous generations. This has been mad worse by the WFH of the covid shutdown.

Add in the absurd education and experience requirements for even entry level jobs, we have a right to be mad at all the out of touch boomers screaming "work harder".

Methinks you are overvaluing how hard you work and the performance of work as you bullshite and strut around the office there boomer.
