Racists going to do racist things in racist places.

This isn't racism.

This is a clear case of an ostracized woman of color attending an $80k/year university checking the privilege of a white janitor making $35k/year. That janitor is living like a king while this poor woman has to worry about the authorities being called on her for simply eating where they think she isn't supposed to. Her life was literally in danger.

That's the problem though, nothing happens to them. Look at Governor Blackface in Virginia. Nothing done.

Liberals, yes. We need them to wake up and start decrying this critical theory bullshite. But radical leftists don’t think this is ridiculous. They think it’s justice even if it’s a lie.

Edit - and by them I mean me as well. I’ve always considered myself more left than right, but I don’t identify much with the current trend of left wing ideology.

Seems kinda unusual for a real African to pull such a stunt. They’re usually different the African Americans, at least in my limited experience.

if I took a wild guess, prior to this incident - her grades were slipping? or she lost her scholarship? Or whoever was paying tuition ran out of money?

The only thing worse than actual racism is false racism claims, yet those that point out racism in every aspect of life usually ignore or downplay this side of it.

There’s some hope in this world.

quote:

Jodi Shaw, who worked for the residential life department, resigned from the school on February 19, citing a 'racially hostile environment.'

In October she began speaking out against the anti-bias training programs, and found a fervent YouTube following.

'I ask that Smith College stop reducing my personhood to a racial category. Stop telling me what I must think and feel about myself,' she said.

'Stop presuming to know who I am or what my culture is based upon my skin color. Stop asking me to project stereotypes and assumptions onto others based on their skin color.

Would the fact they are always bullshite have anything to do with that?

An elite Massachusetts liberal arts college has quietly conceded that there was no truth to allegations of racism made by one of their students

If the security guard was white, it isn't a matter of IF there was racism it was HOW did racism manifest in that sotuation.

This is the lunacy of critical race theory.

NY Times

quote:

She worked that summer as a teaching assistant and on July 31 awoke late and stopped at the Tyler House dormitory cafeteria for lunch on her way to the gym.

quote:

Student workers were not supposed to use the Tyler cafeteria, which was reserved for a summer camp program for young children. Jackie Blair, a veteran cafeteria employee, mentioned that to Ms. Kanoute when she saw her getting lunch there and then decided to drop it.

quote:

Ms. Kanoute took her food and then walked through a set of French doors, crossed a foyer and reclined in the shadowed lounge of a dormitory closed for the summer

quote:

A janitor, who was in his 60s and poor of sight, was emptying garbage cans when he noticed someone in that closed lounge. All involved with the summer camp were required to have state background checks and campus police had advised staff it was wisest to call security rather than confront strangers on their own.

So she was actually breaking the rules, someone tried to let her know she was breaking rules, continued to do what she wanted then cried racism when confronted?

Nice

Had some time and decided to read the article.
quote:

'These institutions are not yet built for us. I'm grateful that I get to talk about this.'
Not yet built for "us", but all she had to do was post a false claim and got everything she wanted.
quote:

The ACLU has also asked Smith to create housing for black students who may want to live together - a longstanding request from black student groups.
So, we're back to segregation is the way to go.
quote:

On October 28, 2018, McCartney released a 35-page report from a law firm which was called in to investigate Kanoute's claim. Blair was cleared altogether, and the investigators found no sufficient evidence of discrimination by anyone else involved, including the janitor who called campus police.
Don't think you can so no evidence of discrimination. It was obvious that Kanoute discriminated against the 3 white employees that she tried to dox. I say try, because she actually doxxed a janitor that had nothing to do with the incident

And the side effects of these stories that no one wants to talk about
The wrong janitor that was identified had a pre-existing anxiety disorder, and had to be hospitalized after the attack from Kanoute. The cafeteria worker ended up being hospitalized because her lupus flared up. Janitor returned to work at the college, cafeteria worked still can't find work and almost had a new job until the interviewer realized she was part of this story.
