They're trained to shoot until the threat is neutralized. If the suspect's gun wouldn't have landed away from his body and he was still moving on the ground near it they would've been well within their duties to keep shooting.

I counted about 19 shots the first three were his I think. Dude was dumb AF non-compliance when you are carrying (legally or not) is a recipe for disaster.

just seems like there were an awful lot of shots fired and they guy was still yelling and moving around.Seemed like they missed a lot.

I think his tower got buzzed by one of the opening shots from the perp. When he comes back into frame he's checking his ear/side of his head like it's bleeding, which is why the initial deputy asks him multiple times if he's alright.

Real shootings aren't like a Hollywood movie where you shoot and the guy is instantly dead or passes out. Even if you hit someone in the dome, unless you hit the brainstem or sever the spinal cord, it's not necessarily an instant lights out. Earlier this week, the guy that got killed after he threw the dude to the ground over the handicap parking spot argument took off running after he was fatally shot. Deer can run hundreds of yards after being fatally shot before they go down. Bleeding out can take a while depending on what's hit. That said, you're right that they almost certainly missed on at least a few of those shots. Adrenaline is a bitch.

I'm pretty sure the only cop that shot him was the one that tased him. The first multiple shots were from the black guy. He was shooting at the cops which is why they were running away for cover. Afterwards, when the bigger cop came back into the picture on the left he was wiping his ear looking for blood or something. Maybe he got grazed?
It looked like the guy was getting shot at first but he was actually twitching from being tased and shooting at the cops.

That retard is really lucky he wasn't hit A LOT more times than he was.
I feel like that officer with the taser was left hanging out to dry by the other two cops. Had to retreat while armed with his taser, draw his gun, and ultimately it was his shots that neutralized the threat. The other cops were supposed to be covering him. I'd have been a little bit pissed.

And i am as anti-system as they come, that i can guarantee you, but this guy was the one at fault and he paid for it. The cops went by the book. He gave him every opportunity to do right and he just kept pressing.

This should be a good video for those who respond to ask why cops didn't just tase a guy to de-escalate a situation.
