We have Flock. Only supervisors have access. If you’ve achieved a supervisory position you should know right from wrong and have enough control not to abuse that power. If someone on your shift needs it for a case, it goes through you and every time it’s accessed you have to enter a file number and it should be documented in your report.

I understand we treat this way different than many small agencies that hired the best highschool drop out they could find that was dumb enough to take the job.

I hate it’s being abused by some because it’s been so valuable to us in cases.

Example: Someone said their mail was being tampered with. We got dates and approx times. Made a list of everyone that passed in that area. Someone else makes the same report a few days later. Same list for them and cross referenced. Identified someone in both areas. Investigation led to this person running a deal where they steal mail, apply for credit cards by the thousands and trade them for drugs.

An annalist sitting behind a desk can solve a case like this freeing up short staffed agency (all agencies are short staffed).

A wise man once told me that if she’s gonna cheat, she will find a way no matter what you do.
