Thank god. I loathe that place. I have horrible, traumatic memories of being stuck there for hours with my mother as a child and then later in life with girlfriends. Good riddance!

I always thought their structures and locations would make a nice Brewing Company Chain.

Hate to see anyone have to close their doors but all they had in there was overpriced, cheaply made junk.

It’s the OT. All these bad-arse internet “baws” love shaking their dick at other’s misfortune.

They have been holding on by the skin of their teeth since the mid 90's.

I never understood how they stayed in business, no one was ever in there. Place was expensive, and only had a few things you would even purchase, rest was garbage, and looked terrible.

was a place for young home/apartment owners and college kids

I can honestly say I've never been to one of their stores.

The online buying is putting the hurt on them and others as well.

Guess I'll have to go to the beach to get some seashells.

Pier 1 has a really prime location in Lafayette, and I’ve always wondered how they’ve managed to keep that spot seeing as I never see that many cars in the parking lot

I’m honestly surprised they held on this long.

Same here. Most of what they sell is what I consider "decorator" crap that does nothing more than collect dust.

I have some distinct memories of my mom dragging me to Pier 1 in the 90s.

They've been closing stores since last fall. This was going to happen regardless

YUP. Been saying this for a while now. I don't support these shutdowns, but they are simply bring a long death to a bit earlier end for many of these chains (not unlike how it is treating some older humans)

Nothing in my house is from there, and I don't think I can think of anyone I know that has anything in their house from there (perhaps they do and I just don't know about it).

They must have really high margins on the items they do sell.

My wife thankfully doesn't shop there, but she does like to shop at Kirkland's, not sure if that is much better.
