They were a solid "Oh shite, I need an ornament for the work place ornament exchange" type place. Who tried to be a little more boujie than they actually were.

Yep, they have been on the dying bed for several years, but there will be several more chains, probably before the end of summer that will follow them...

Having imports in your name probably doesn’t help.

Yeah, the layout of the stores, the products, and how it was all decorated in there was trying to look like it was some fancy Greek/Italian/Island feel, but 95% of the stuff was cheaply made in China and they charged crazy prices on the stuff that wasn't. We still have a desk we bought at one way back in college, and it has held up fine, but nothing about it screams fancy import.

They were liquidating a lot of their stores before the China Virus.

Sadly, I think we are going to see a lot of long standing retailers go under. Online shopping is just clobbering them.

Same. Don’t think I’ve ever seen more than three cars in the parking lot at once at the LCH storefront.

Well this is Covid in a nutshell isn't.

Not really. Pier 1 was failing long before Covid-19. But I agree businesses will use covid-19 as an excuse for their failing cause there will likely be taxpayer money to be had in settlements much like hospitals will use every death as just a ticket for payouts from the government. Employers will use it to get rid of problem employees that should have bee fired long before. State governments are already claiming their failed economic policies over a decade or more are now Covid-19 related.

But in reality very little of it is actually caused by the Covid-19 situation.

If your in a plane that crashing and someone on board strangles you to death you're going to me listed as a victim of the plane crash.

Which is exactly what i was saying you just misunderstood it. Furthermore, I was actually symbolically referring to people in deaths.

All these “ closing “ threads are the same. Thousands of people losing their jobs and everybody lines up to shite on the brand in question. When these are the stakes right now at this particular time in our history I don’t get it.
