Anonymous sources - LSU exploring prohibition for cars on campus for freshmen

Baws, been hearing through some of my sources that LSU is looking into the idea in their master plan of prohibiting freshmen from owning cars on campus. They might let the freshmen kids park their cars off campus though. Idea is to turn the lots around Alex Box stadium and River Road into giant parking lots and then have tiger trails run to campus from there.
This would be a really dumb move. Those who say this will never happen should know that that they already made it mandatory for all freshmen below 21 to live on campus unless they live with a guardian within 50 miles of campus.
LSU reveille already publishing opinions about it. Some support it because Tulane does it but that’s stupid because Tulane is a private school while LSU is public. Also public transportation in BR is garbage.
Another horrible move if this happens!!!

So they want freshmen to live on campus, but don't want them to have a vehicle in a city/state that has shite public infrastructure?

Which one of you oil baws is pissed you had to park far away for the game last weekend?

They’ve been exploring this idea for 15+ years.
Why they let shitty posters like you continue to clutter the board with rumor mongering presented as fact, especially as it pertains to the primary university this board represents, is beyond me.

Horrible? Horrible would be human sacrifice. Minor inconvenience for freshmen? Maybe.

Sounds like you're confirming that OP posted a fact...
Look, OP sucks balls, but not sure what you're complaining about here.

The same people that swallow tide pods.

Sounds like LSU got tired of people complaining about the job the school does of (mis)managing the parking situation and decided to start bussing them in instead.
The school going to accept students saying they were late for class / a test because the school mandated busses couldn’t stay on time?

this is pretty common for schools up north. off campus parking and upper classmen about to make some big money

L$U will try this but it wont work, then just make it 10x more expensive for freshman to get a parking permit.... never miss out on another opportunity to make money

LSU leadership is laughable. F King and the rest are trying so hard to turn LSU into a bastion of progressivism in the south.

Is this like the time they said we weren't going to be allowed to live off campus, even though my family owned a place?

They’ve been talking about limiting cars to upperclassmen forever. And it’s never happened. Because every time they do “look at it” the idea gets shot down.
What they are doing is getting rid of central campus parking via building construction and not replacing them with garages. So the “solution” as the OPs rumor mill is to continue allowing open parking near the levee and adding busses.

That doesn't really address your little outburst
ETA: Be mad at the Reveille for talking about it this past week I guess.

Considering a lot of people live in Prairieville and commute, this makes absolutely zero fricking sense. You kind of need a car in BR, regardless of freshmen status.

Yeah but they banned freshmen from living off campus this year. You sound like a reincarnation of some crappy European soldier in WWII who got caught pants down when the Germans advanced because you thought it would never happen.
