LSU's master plan aims to prohibit all personal vehicles during normal working hours.

LSU is on their second master plan in 20 years and maybe 10% of either has been built, or even proposed to BoS or HB2 for funding.

First one had 7 or 8 parking garages. Second one was just built.

I doubt it happens but if they allow freshman to park on the outskirts of campus and run Tiger Trails to their cars I don't really care if they implement it or not. People will adjust.

I walked from Kirby to CEBA 5 days a week. Usually more than once

That would be pretty freaking terrible for football and baseball game parking.

getting rid of central campus parking via building construction

Parking was easy before the athletic admin building was constructed in the early 90's. Students lost a third of the parking around the stadium.

That’s the plan. And currently an option if you can’t find a spot in your zone close enough to your building or dorm.

But LSU commuter parking is a pretty big disgrace. They need to figure something out.

Is this like the time they said we weren't going to be allowed to live off campus,
that's not uncommon for colleges.

Less people driving on/through campus during the workday/normal class hours is good.

I don't really care where they park at night on or off campus, kids will adjust accordingly.

With 100 degrees outside and 100% humidity, and paid parking permit, that’s not an efficient plan. You are wasting 15-25 minutes every morning trying to find parking. Would say not a big deal but their Tiger Trails don’t even run on time.

If you live at the Woodlands on Ben hur road for example, you have 3 busses ( 2 in Burbank-Ben hur and 1 on Nicholson-Ben hur). A bus should come every 10 minutes hypothetically but there have been times when all 3 buses come within 5 minutes of each other and then you are SOL for the next 40 minutes. Then another 15 minutes to campus and another 5 to walk to class. You are now an hour late.

Did you know that all LSU students pay for tiger trails from their fee bill but tiger trails is open and free to everyone even the general public of Baton Rouge?

Except they aren't banning them from having cars.

You act like we didn't do it. We did. It's not a big deal. Suck it up. Get to campus earlier if it bothers you that much.

Sounds great.

When do they return the drinking age to 18?

If not, why are we banning cars again?

Alabama did this several years ago. Freshmen could have cars on campus, but could only park in the parking lot of their dorm. It only applied M-F, from like 7AM until 6PM, then they could park wherever.

Yes. We paid the same fee. But it was CATS Providing the service… Consider yourselves lucky

And the reason for that arrangement is to allow students and staff at LSU to use CATS for free…

well that's completely different. LSU basically already does that too.
