My nephew fell through my Aunts ceiling over their kitchen last Thanksgiving. I thought that would be it, but $700 repair later and we are back on for tomorrow!! So stay tuned.
I doubt they’ll be much drama this year. Most of them are MAGA and the part of the family that isn’t aren coming this year. Which is probably why lol.
Either way I’ll be smoking a ham in the morning hoping for some good stories

We are staying home this year for Thanksgiving so there will not be any drama. That being said, my MIL was just over and my six year old called her a fart knocker and told her he learned that from me. That was fun to explain.

Well long story short the Christmas gathering was uneventful so my dad quietly drops the rubber dog poo on the carpet and walks off. Comes back few minutes and says “which one of yalls dog shite on the carpet”
Did he end it by picking it up, smelling it and taking a pretend bite?

It's Thanksgiving Eve and there hasn't been a documented family meltdown yet? LOL
Wait til tonight. We usually have a few stories.

Anyone else have parents/relatives that put absurd pressure on getting everyone together for the holidays and making sure everything is just perfect and then inevitably has a crying meltdown when someone gets sick and can't make it or some people decided to leave early to go visit other friends/family?
You'd think after like 8 consecutive years of that happening the person would take the hint to relax on that stuff and just kind of go with the flow of whatever happens.
Christmas and Thanksgiving are "ruined" pretty much every year for this person.

A spinoff of that is someone, almost always an older woman, who starts fights/arguments/issues over nothing but will act like you (or whoever else) are a POS for doing the same, even if it’s more than justified

My MIL is that person. Doesn't try to get the family together any other time of the year but insists on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Gets super upset when everyone can't make it. Every year.

Have they found shame for this behavior yet?
They probably died of covid despite their 10 boosters

Or, perhaps, because of them.

There’s a limit. People have other sides of family and friends that they may want to see during their limited time off.
Someone have a crying tantrum because they can’t have every family member spending 100% of the holiday with them is unreasonable. Someone having that crying tantrum every year for 5+ years is insane.

Wife had a stomach bug/flu that lasted 24 hours on Monday, I got it Tuesday, and now my son has it today. Wife’s mom and stepdad don’t want to get it so we’re on our own tomorrow, which is honestly a relief because we can now relax all day tomorrow and go at our own pace

Nothing big yet here. At a decently nice dinner last night, the 9 year old ripped a very loud fart right after telling the waiter he wanted the kids chicken. He saw no issue with it, older cousins and brothers find it very amusing. At least my parents can't really hear anything anymore.
