I’ve been waiting like 2 years for a flood of repos that never seems to arrive
Hell, the price of everything, especially in regards to wages not increasing at the same ratio is bonkers.
I member when six figures was said to be the threshold for easier times in the household. Both people better be making six figures in order to live somewhat comfortably in today's economy.

I'd buy a rental before a repo.

I don’t get how the automakers haven’t responded by offering something more palatable unless it’s due to government/environmental regulations.
If so, can’t Trump do something about that?
Has that cheap Japanese truck made it over here yet?

Something by I’ve wondered is what is the real cost to manufacture these vehicles nowadays, with all the tech that’s in them. Surely a $40k base model F150 costs a lot more to make nowadays, too, because people have to have all the bells and whistles that even work trucks include.

Only going to get worse if the reports of the Trump Administration doing a round of “stimulus” checks is true. Gotta stop flooding the economy with “free” government cash. You’d think the rampant inflation after 2020 and 2021 payouts would have taught everyone that.

Well someone posted about another month of record oil production while I was at the camp chasing specks, flounders and crabs.

Get rid of the all the computer crap in cars and it would help. One of my friends has a 2 year old Ford pickup. He had the brakes changed and Ford had to reset the computer brain. That cost an additional $600.00. No reason whatsoever to have all the computer stuff in vehicles.

Agree. Almost as if some of that shite is programmed by the manufacturer to go out after X amount of time or miles just so we have to keep forking over cash to the auto-associated industry.

Anyone financing a vehicle for 100K+ is a fool.
My rate is 1.9%. Anyone turning down a $100k loan at 1.9% for three years is making a poor money management decision IMO. Sure, I could pay it off this morning, but why?

I mean is anyone here shocked when the absolutely bottom base model of something like a F-150 starts at around $40k.
Real wage growth hasn't kept up with the cost of living. The middle class is getting squeezed. Thankful I don't have a car note and a few good years left on my vehicle.

I'm wondering how many of those have been repo'd multiple times because the used car market is still strong even though new car prices have been through the roof.

That is absolutely insane.
Poor people will always be poor people.
I'll bet that there are a lot of people in this category who are not poor. And truck baws are some of the worst "keepin' up with the Joneses" in the world.
There is no greater sheeple when it comes to car buying than suburban wives and truck baws.

I paid my vehicle off two years early so I'm delinquent and underwater on the rest of my bills.

I've never had car payment above $575/month. Pretty much buy certified pre-owned everytime.

I mean I haven’t either but unless you’ve bought pre-owned post-COVID, it’s a whole different world out there.

Starting to see boats, RVs, side by sides for sale on the side of the road. Give it a year and you can buy those things for nothing.

Mostly because we as Americans have been living above our means for a very long time. My parents never had a CC growing up and made ends meet some kind of way. People don’t do that anymore. Can’t afford something, put it on a CC or a loan.
