Ron Paul was hated by both political parties for trying to tell the American people this. Anyone who believed "they hate us because of our freedom" is an absolute moron. They hate us because, since the Cold War, our wars and meddling in that part of the world has a body count in the millions.

I’m 35 and there are people my age over there that have seen nothing but poverty, war, their communities destroyed, and their friends and family blown up by a country no where near the region, and they can’t/don’t even know where or when these strikes will hit. They just get blown to pieces. I would be screaming death to America too.
