Late Ottoman history can be characterized like that for sure, but the early portion was relatively peaceful for the region.

America is addicted to war. The alternative to Assad in Syria is worse than what he is. Every religious minority group in Syria backs the Assad regime over the "moderate rebels" our CIA loves to talk about, which is really just a euphemism for Sunni radicals. And all of this warmongering is being done at the behest of Likudists in Israel and their allies here in America. They want Assad out in Syria and a weakened Hezbollah in Lebanon. Maybe we should move our capital to Jerusalem, because that's where our foreign policy dictates sure as hell come from.

He bombed Syria once. In Feb 2017 after reports of asssad gassing his people. He bombed a airport base but US actually gave warning and Syria removed troops so nobody was killed.
We didn't do anything remotely of this drone strike with trump in office.
