Walmart has two day shipping, just as many products to chose from, and no membership requirement.

No. It is not worth it to me. Most of the stuff I order I either can get free shipping (usually 2 day) or I don’t mind picking up myself. I get my music fix from my Apple subscription and my tv entertainment from Netflix/Hulu/HBO.
I don’t mind not seeing Prime exclusive tv shows.

Amazon customer service is the best I have ever seen.
Often times I get to keep items for free without even having to return them..
Also, if, for any reason my package is not on time I get a free month of prime.. every time.
The main thing though is I love their customer service. Often times, even on non prime purchases, they will still refund me on stuff that wasn't even eligible for returns.. and I can keep the item.

Amazon also has no tax in many states, unfortunately Louisiana started charging taxes on Amazon on certain items.

A lot of those are spend x amount to get free shipping.
I like Amazon for the streaming movies and shows, prime music is pretty damn good too. Just tell Alexa to play anything, use the app on my phone for car rides.

I understand. It is their business model to grow membership right now. They don’t want to lose you as a customer for the long run. Investors don’t need them to make a profit, in retail, right now. Investors just want membership growth.
Eventually, however, Amazon will be graded on profit, in retail, like all other retailers. That is when Amazon will start getting stingy with returns and whatnot. They can’t be giving free product to 400 million members in wrong shipments etc. additionally, they will be increasing Prime costs to add to their net income. Their retailing business (ie excluding AWS) does not make money. At some point in the future, investors will want profit. This means increased membership costs. By then, most major retailers will be offering 2 day shipping (big portion free) as well.
So, basically, enjoy it while it lasts is all I’m saying. Most companies get penalized for messing up shipping, Amazon gets free pass because you get to keep the wrong thing they sent you haha.
