they But I am not going to attack your grammar. You were probably typing fast (like me) and made a mistake.

This is why grammar attacks on the internet are not good for a supporting argument.

But as you said, they were not advanced. How is that any different than the Native Americans. The Chinese and Japanese were intelligent, but they were not capable of stopping the British or American Empires.

Only city that is modern on that list is Capetown because of the modern sewerage system.

And for the record, other races were not exactly the best at civilization building either. Whites today adore the Japanese, but no one brings up that fact that after the Sengoku Jidai they were basically an isolationist country with no technological advancement for 200+ years until the US forced trade. And the few guns they did have were 16th century trades from the Portuguese

After the renaissance the Western World was far and away the most technologically superior. I don't think anyone would argue that.

3 is better than none, which is the point I was trying to make.

Never said I supported it. I was just making a point that they created an Empire. You could say the same thing about the Aztecs and Mayans. Those societies never reach Middle Ages level of technology , but they still accomplished many things.

I do not believe in poppycock, I recognize the goods and bads of all civilizations. I try to learn from their mistakes.

At the same time, I am not blinded by the success of western civilizations. Rome thought it was too big to fail and so did the Ottoman Empire.

A civilization greatness is not only in its physical achievements. It also lies in ability to fight inner-corruption within itself. That is the lesson no one on here wants to admit.

I completely agree.

But in addition to the Renaissance, other countries were very isolationists (African, Eastern, certain Middle-Eastern)

Hoisted by my own petard. Fair point.

I don't think it's any different. Better weapons tech and strategy and the scientific edge, plus the drive to explore and the will to conquer is what made the peoples of the west the best at it in the age of exploration. The mongols had an incredible run as well.

I've honestly forgotten what the argument was.

But George Washington Carver definitely didn't invent peanuts. And Jackson is a shithole.

The Aztecs and Mayans didn't get into the Iron Age because there wasn't much iron to work with however they figured out a lot of farming stuff that the Spanish copied off them. For instance, they domesticated the tomato which originally was poisonous

Also the Romans fell because they took in too many refugees

People literally went crazy over an alternate history series that was going to be on HBO I believe that was about what things would be like had the Confederates won the war. Those same people will stay silent here.

All I see are people giving their opinions on what it would be like, kind of hard to argue given all of the examples

Wait... haven't we already seen a series like this in cities like Oakland, New Orleans, Detroit, Chicago, D.C.? Is this show going to be about absolute dysfunction and lack of ability to govern?
