These two photos both feature the same Aldabra giant tortoise named Mitch. The photo on the left was taken in 1902 and the photo on the right was taken in 2017. Mitch was born in 1832 and today he is 186 years old.

Empire State Building had five construction deaths.
World Trade Center had 60 construction deaths.
Bit of trivia
Most early tall buildings were constructed with American Indian labor and they were some of the best high steel workers for buildings and bridges. By the time later buildings like WTC were constructed they no longer had such a high number of natives to build with. Guess the older Indians got paid and made sure their kids got college educations.

For some reason they don't have a natural fear of heights

They all have safety harnesses in the 2nd photo. What would have happened to these workers if they went out there without harnesses?

That tortoise lives on St. Helena island where exiled Napoleon Bonaparte died.
One of the most isolated places in the world.

There was an article in the local New Orleans newspaper about 30 years ago now, that stated the Huey P. Long Bridge in Jefferson Parish had been painted completely ONCE since it was built and that was in 1955.
I have never seen it completely done since the article, either.
