These two photos both feature the same Aldabra giant tortoise named Jonathan. The photo on the left was taken in 1902 and the photo on the right was taken in 2017. Jonathan was born in 1832 and today he is 186 years old.


Nicknamed 'Methuselah' this Californian bristlecone pine tree was seeded in the year 2833 BC, which makes this tree 4,850 years old.

Those are some pretty cool pictures. The steelworker just chillin up there almost gives me a heart attack just looking at it.

What’s really crazy about the Empire State Building is it was built in barely over one year. Construction started March 17, 1930 and was completed April 11, 1931. And it opened less than a month later on May 1, 1931. Men got shite done back then.

Didn't have OSHA or labor laws to really protect them

I'm sure quite few died or were seriously hurt building it. And I'm sure they worked insane hours without even expecting overtime pay. And I bet lots of juveniles helped as well.

shite gets built pretty quickly in Qatar still.
