Again, the city is only liable for a maximum of $500,000 total for Sterling’s wrongful death, exclusive of economic loss. Additionally, he was in the commission of two or three felonies when he was killed and this, in turn, would decrease, or eliminate monetary damages for his wrongful death or any loss of support. The council members who vote for $5,000,000 in payment would be committing malfeasance in office and subject to fine and imprisonment under Louisiana law and any city lawyers who recommend, approve, and/or sanction this settlement are committing legal malpractice and ought be reported to their disciplinary board.

An email from my state rep when I asked him about the payout to the family with tax dollars:
“I was not familiar with what has been happening with that situation. It appears to me that they wont have the votes to bring a settlement offer because they didnt have the votes to go to mediation”

The greatest service these local politicians could do for the citizenry, black and white, would be to try this case in state court in Baton Rouge. Let all the witnesses testify and all the video play. At the end of the day, no matter what the jury awards (if anything) it is reduced to $500,000 total for the wrongful death of Sterling, exclusive of loss of support. Who knows? A Baton Rouge jury might surprise you.

What’s even stupider is that those dumbfricks will piss away the frickin’ money inside of 6 months and have zero to show for it. They’re real pillars of society, I tell ya.

Look my man I am very skeptical of police and border on disliking them, check my post history, but the Alton Sterling case was cut and dry. He reached into his pocket and touched the gun. The police saw it and acted accordingly. The officer reached in and grabbed the gun with no hesitation after he shot him. This was as cut and dry as possible.

While I don't think they should pay him a nickel, this is great news. This is the city council passing out money for no reason to the undeserving. This means they have plenty of money. Shitloads of money for everybody!!
I expect them to also begin announcing what taxes they are doing away with since there is so much money to pass around frivolously.
They're rich, bitch!!!

That is absolutely not true. His gun was not out until after he tried to control Sterling with his hands first.

This will be blown in 3 years

Don't the Reverends negotiate their percentage before they get involved? I think Crump has to grease them too, so they will bring him in on all cases that they get involved in.
Gravy got a taste of that loop, but he did not grease anybody else, so he cannot eat with them anymore.

bullshite. How many people will get a kick back off that 5 mill?

I've never seen a strategy that involves disclosure of your settlement authority before you walk into a settlement conference.
If the Parish was smart, it would have voted to increase the amount of funds the Parish attorney was able to use in all litigation with no earmark attached.

Most Metro Council votes fall along racial lines, with Tara Wicker usually sitting on the fence (she doesn’t always vote straight up with the other AA members). And who knows how Chandler Loup will vote. He’s been MIA from meetings for several years busy chasing ambulances for Gordon. Since he represents a sizable portion of St. George he should be saying Hell no to sending more St. George money to NBR, but he’s shown how easily developers can buy his vote, so he’s clearly for sale.

Bingo! The “Salamoni provoked the situation” is part of the NARRATIVE the Race Hustlers created. Yes, Salamoni was aggressive but only after Sterling began resisting. You know what? When an armed 6’6” 325 pound man indicates to me that the fight is about to be on, I am coming off the top rope as soon as possible in an attempt to get out in front of that train. Sterling was huge, high as a kite (you don’t hear them mentioning that) and trying to pull a gun. That’s the facts.
Salamoni’s behavior might seem coarse watching it from your couch but this took place in the hood in the middle of the night. That’s how shite goes down. It isn’t a place for social workers. You know where the social workers and their Deescalation Policies were that night? Home safe and warm in their beds.

How much blood money kick back is Gravy going to get? Instead of a $5 million dollar settlement, they should all be thankful that the bunch of them don't get tossed in the frickin can.
SWB and suck it.
