The other issue is that people confuse justified shootings with the optimal outcome. Just because you can shoot someone doesn't mean you played your cards perfectly as an officer. Surely there are things that can be learned from this situation, but if you bring that up people lose their shite as if you're defending Sterling.

yup. theres a good chance when all shakes out here we see a picture where the police are justified, but we are left seeing a few deescalation opportunities missed (on both sides).

How fricking hard is it too fricking comply to the orders being given by the cops? The fricking Arab guy in Ohio didn't even know English and he complied to the orders. Does the ghetto not understand English?

The truth is that black people feel threatened by the police in a way that white people don't.

Be honest. If you had a black son, what would you tell him about dealing with the police? Would you let him play in the yard with a toy gun?

Spare me the usual responses. Seriously think about it.

Wow. So there's no value in a full video??

I'm done responding to you

Why am I supposed to believe the video was edited? You don't see what you want to see in the video posted on Twitter so you just know that there is video evidence that supports the officers being withheld? What kind of thinking is that?

Well, what you implied and what was said are not the same. Sorry you can't pick your words correctly apparently.

Someone said it earlier but the general feeling in the black community towards law enforcement is shitty.

editing has nothing to do with seeing what happened before the take down. Officers didn't magically teleport to the scene

So I guess Salmon is this family's lawyer

No. But apparently the family's lawyer is an elected state Representative since that is the first thing he said in the press conference. How does being an elected official and the lawyer for this case not conflict? Wonder if this guy voted for the Blue Lives Matter bill?

Nevermind, found it:

quote:

“He wasn’t a bad person,” another resident, David Solomon, told the newspaper.

Sterling was a registered sex offender, state records show. He was convicted in 2000 of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and was released from prison in 2004. Details of that case were not immediately available.

Sterling also had convictions for aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry and domestic abuse battery, The Advocate reports. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2009 for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and carrying an illegal weapon with a controlled dangerous substance.

I mean, its truly insane that people repeatedly say he's a great guy who caused no harm. He was a registered sex offender with domestic abuse and battery convictions.
