We live in a narcissistic society. Actions like those described in OP are nothing more than exercises in "look at me." In this Internet age, people unjustifiably feel like everyone of their opinions and feelings must be heard by all.

Wow..... my mom passed in 2000. I miss her but she would want me to celebrate with my kids and celebrate their mom..... isn't it that how it should be.....

For me it's not people who lost their moms, but those whose mom was never a part of their life or didn't accept their "lifestyle"

See other thread for the long list of things they self identify as for reference.

I avoid social media on Mother's Day, Father's Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, etc... pretty much any day that provides an opportunity for morons to act pretentious or post something to make themselves seem more thoughtful than they are any other day of the year.

This is the second Mothers day since my mom passed. I post old pictures of us together that she held onto for 35-45 years that I had forgotten existed and share with people how much my brother and I were loved by her and how much we loved her and what she meant to me and him.

Subtle "I have a family" brag, IMO.

Your friends are less trashy than mine. The ones whining in my feed are the single moms passive aggressively bitching about the nasty deadbeat dudes with whom they chose to procreate.

Actually, No, but anybody can drive or be driven to the nearest pound and pick out a dog to take care of, even those who cannot have children for biological reasons.

If my Mom can deal with Mother's Day after losing a child, I think they can deal.

There are miserable people who shite on everything. Even those who get mad because you celebrate it at all or do something nice for your wife.

I love social media

I pretty much hate FB now because of all the old people and trashy people who didn't go to college, trashy people do make it entertaining, especially when they decide to peruse musical careers

it's just fricking jealousy and knowing that being a victim is so valued in today's society

i will be kind and say i didn't have the best father. i can't imagine how much of a weak-minded, irrational-emotional pussy i'd have to be to complain about my friends who had good, loving fathers being cherished on father's day

Don't feel the need to use Facebook as a medium to talk to my family, do it direct.

Haha you're right I can't pop out a baby but I'm still a puppy daddy and that's why I can't wait til Father's Day!

And, believe it or not the local rescues are very stringent in who they let adopt and poster pets! There's a background check and credit check!
