Would not be surprising to find the prep is in a gang but the gang initiation is ridiculous.

This thread has a weird fascination with it not being gang initiation. It very well could be and it makes no difference if it was that or if it was a car jacking.

Let’s say this is a gang initiation…
What do we do about it. Arrest the kid and let the gang skate?
Arrest the one that gave the order?

The cops were pretty clear in the press conference that they didn’t believe it had anything to do with a gang initiation. I suppose it could be but it’s really unlikely. That’s a modern folklore.

One thing I haven't seen posted.... What if... (and Im trying to think outside the box, because I care) a couple broke thugs saw the fries or bag of food and simply wanted to snatch it because they were hungry.... if ur hangry and don't get the food, is it enough to pop off 10 rounds ??

Kiran reports her interview with the witness who says he contacted the police and they didn't seem interested so rather than admitting anything, that would rather try to discredit Kiran.
There's one issue I have right there in the politics aspect of this. And as a disclaimer I'm one of those who begins at the assumption BRPD isn't doing their fullest here.

But of course to the caller (the witness) they won't "seem interested". Part of that is training- you're trained not to get too positive, or negative, because that can effect the remainder of the conversation. If you get excited or tell them something as simple as "this is good stuff, we needed this" you could prompt exaggeration or even embellishment. So you simply want to sound like you want to hear what they are saying, but neither interested or disinterested.

And then there's the fact you're talking to what amounts to a powerless secretary who's job is to record as much info as possible and get it to a detective or supervisor.

It's the law enforcement follow up after that call that defines whether police were interested, or not. And that's fair game. But how it sounded to the witness on the initial call does not matter and should have sounded "neutral", which will appear to all of us as disinterested.

And have to note- law enforcement will always consider the initial caller as a potential suspect. Hell, even BTK called in a couple of his kills. Gangs do rat out competition and even try to do stupid frame-ups. So you don't want to give anything to that caller and hope your "neutral" position prompts them to say something they shouldn't have in an effort to prompt a reaction.

Do we think 1 on these thugs would turn in the killer for a 50k reward? I personally feel this is the best chance of finding the killer.

Yea this reward is about to blow up. Things are going to get very interesting. Heat will really be turned up on these killers with a 6 figure reward.
they need to get it set and announce that it is set. Fundraisers announced going to the reward are great and all, but as long as that reward is changing people are going to hold out for a better deal. They should set the reward and make it final and announce that monies will go to private investigators or even supplemental supplies for the police working on the case. That way the calculation of the future rat becomes one that includes more police (or PIs) are coming to your neighbor(hood) soon if this continues.

I wonder if you have to pay taxes on a reward.

On the gang initiation thing...
It very well can be a gang thing without being an initiation. Gang members gotta earn to rank up. This is one angle I would pursue if I had decent intelligence on the gangs in the area: If you can identify the gang (because you know on who's territory this occurred) go to a rival gang and give them the opportunity, out of public eye of course, to take a rival out.

without a lead, and by that I mean a person they can't hunt or pursue, landing in their lap that's exactly what the detectives are doing. They will do it by a process of elimination. In all fairness to your complaint, many of the theories here will be discarded.

Sorry if anyone took offense to simply trying to offer a fresh perspective of possibly. I have been involved with similar incidents and am always disgusted with what people are capable of doing. I suppose my choice of sentence structure failed to meet your standards. I did state that Im trying to help because I care.

Think of it as being like the Powerball.

People keep their eye on it then all try to collect as it gets to be a large jackpot.

Someone’s going to try and collect as more money gets raised by The Shed, the family, and very pissed off citizens.

I didn’t mind your suggestion, though I also think it’s a ridiculous one. Hell, my dog woke me up at 2:05 this morning and while laying in bed, I realized that one week ago a few minutes later poor Allie would find herself in maximum fear and breathe her last breaths and that got my mind racing. I started thinking of every possibility I could imagine and went back to street view to try to find other cameras I hadn’t seen before. Something, anything that could spark a new idea. Not that it would be anything helpful because even if I thought of something that checks all mysterious boxes as to what exactly happened, what would I do? Call the cops and tell them what I think happened based on no evidence whatsoever? Still, I think it’s human nature to try to make sense of what happened. This one in particular has been eating at me and literally keeping me up at night.

Because it is highly unlikely and mostly urban legend...don't flash your brights.

So why jump to the less logical of the 2?

That's what i'm doing too TDs, idk why GeauxGutsy chose to see the negative. No need to smell, if they were walking by they just saw an opportunity. Things unfold fast in the streets

What are your thoughts on age? I think i heard witness say 25ish...but I am thinking teens still living at home, since they were walking around, and they probably live withing a 1/2 mile of the murder

Crimestoppers historically paid informants entirely in cash & anonymously. That’s the whole point!
I can’t believe that has changed, although in clown world today, I could see Big Brother wanting to track the cash transactions, especially this large.
When did this change?
