But didn’t the witness give Kiran/victim’s dad the name of the officer?
Yes … Allie’s dad has even talked to the witness

I don’t know for sure who all he gave the name of the officer to but The Shed owner is who gave the name in the interview with Kiran.
Oh ok
@OweO - I agree with the PI thing - but do you really think ppl in the hood are going to talk with a PI?

Main reason to continue to do so is if you are close enough to your 20 that you can put up with a LOT of bullshite to get your full pension.

Not a regular white guy. Maybe if they hired someone along the lines of Shaft…

If anyone believes the police are doing anything special, they believe in fairytales.

That’s what I was thinking, too - bc if they’re not going to talk to police, they’re not going to talk to some random PI

Honestly, I believe MP and SWB are trying to ignore it and hope it goes away.
I think they are going to be sadly mistaken if they think that happens.

There is a better chance they talk to a PI than nobody.

haven’t seen this until just now. The Shed is planning a memorial dinner for $100 a ticket and all proceeds go to the reward fund. It will be October 13th and you can damn well believe my wife and I will be there with extra donation dollars being contributed by us.
This is perfect. And if there is no reward and the money goes to the family, so be it, they deserve it.
I’ve blown $100 on worse dinners. This should be a no brainer for anybody in the city who cares about holding these criminals accountable.

You may see just a random yellow rose here. What you don’t know is the Rice family pulled this yellow rose out of Allie’s funeral bouquet and gave it to me as I was leaving their home from an interview. They also gave me some yellow bracelets for me to have and wear. This rose is my reminder that this family is depending on me to do my job. A reporter’s job is to ask the questions, get answers and piece the puzzle together for the public to make up their own mind. So even if that means I’m not allowed at a press conference only because those hosting it don’t like me, that’s not a good enough reason to keep the media out. So I showed up today ready to do my job. However, we were stopped at the door of city hall where the doors lock and asked who we were with while TigerTV was told “they were on the list and could head back.” 15 minutes went by before we were finally allowed back. My biggest takeaway from that news conference was brpd finally acknowledging we have 8 gangs in Baton Rouge after years of saying we have only “groups” here but no gangs or that the reward is now up to $37,500. However, two media outlets made the story about brpd talking about don’t listen to “misinformation.” Don’t listen to what’s “toxic” and listen to “credible” information. What’s so bad about what was asked? What do you say to all the people who are terrified to get out in BR now and to all those wanting to move? Both of those are realities that so many of you keep saying. But it apparently upset them. Then to claim the witness to the scene was a “rumor,” was the biggest slap in his face. But to go further and the chief said a witness never existed????? Why would I make that up? Why would the witness make that up? His only issue was why did it take till the following day to return his call? I think that’s a valid question given the senseless murder. However, that upset them even more so let’s raise voices now. Really? I’ve never jeopardized an officer’s investigation and the men and women doing the job know that. I support the hard work these men and women do daily. This yellow rose was given to me by the family because they trust me. I don’t take that lightly so I will do my job not only for the Rice family, but for everyone and continue to do it regardless if it upsets those in power or others in media. The mother of the witness responded: “I was extremely angry when they said that my son didn’t exist. He didn’t have to give any information but he wanted to do the right thing with hopes it would help find the person or person’s who did this. For them to say it’s a rumor and he doesn’t exist is really a slap in his face. He is very shaken by this tragedy and now he has to deal with this. I also called BRPD multiple times. I was finally able to speak to someone at the 2nd district. I told him that my son was there when this happened and has been trying to get in touch with someone to give them information about what he saw and heard. The officer stated that the detective’s have been busy working the case. I replied, you would think that they would want to speak with the person who was actually there when it happened. He then asked to speak with my son. He gave the officer the information and said a detective will call you. No one called until the next day. I just couldn’t believe it took that long for them to contact him and then say he doesn’t exist.”

Agreed. A lot of people can fit at The Shed. I’d be shocked if they raise less than $100,000 that day. Especially considering some will be voluntarily donating more than required.

Yea this reward is about to blow up. Things are going to get very interesting. Heat will really be turned up on these killers with a 6 figure reward.
I wonder if you have to pay taxes on a reward.

One week ago, a 21 year old college student with her entire life ahead of her was senselessly murdered at a train crossing seemingly for no other reason than she was "at the wrong place at the wrong time."
Now, in the week since, the leadership of Baton Rouge, those who are elected and appointed to protect and serve the citizenry of this city, have sat idly by, preferring to play petty political games than to actually perform the jobs that they were elected or appointed to do.
Meanwhile, many of those who actually support these sad excuses for "public servants" have actively and publicly defended the ineptitude that is clearly evident for all to see. When they aren't attempting to defend this three ring circus with no ringmaster, they choose to attempt to deflect away from it by crafting scenarios that blame the victim for her own death despite these scenarios having no logical or factual basis.
This is a clown world!
