Probably doesn’t care because there’s zero accountability for the utter failure.

I don’t know why this thread is still stickied. Not even investigation discussion anymore, just an endless BR bashing.
We get it, it sucks here
Since the murder of White women is completely ignored by the media/ LE.

Compared to our lord and savior Saint Alton, absolutely that’s the case.

Yeah maybe the Saints can tape her name on their helmets or something

What is it going to take before you all take your families and get the heck out of there? This aint normal.
I was going to wait until spring 2025 when my daughter graduates high school, but we may very well be moving that up to the end of this school year. The crime is out of control. I already had cameras and alarm. Now I have motion detector alarms around all entrances. It's insane.

Murphy Paul refuses to fill the ranks of homicide. They currently only have 10 detectives in there, and that number is quite possibly about to drop to 9. That’s not nearly the amount of detectives needed for the amount of death investigations they work annually.
There is a recognized standard for homicide investigators. They are never supposed to have any more than four (or maybe five?) open cases at any one time. I forget the exact number. Last time I saw it reported, BRPD was at twice that or more. Which leads to their abysmal clearance rate. The ones they are solving are the easy domestic violence and gang shoot out killings where the suspect is caught at the scene. Not from lack of effort or skill but they just don't have the time to work real who done it's.

Ridiculous.
Not one damn person who's being honest or coherent can say things are going well under this bunch. They need to go- but due to the ignorance and total lack of priorities of the average BR voter, someone else just as underwhelming will eventually take their places. The future of this town looks Detroit.

What does Murphy Paul have against homicide detectives to keep the numbers so low without addressing the problem?
Is he jealous because he’s never worked or solved a homicide case personally?
The problem is that he's most likely an idealogue rather than a pragmatist.
Criminal justice idealogues think diverting manpower to nebulous goals like community outreach and church liaisons etc. will somehow lead to tangible return on investment if given enough time to work. I.E. send enough officers to a trunk or treat event and a few years from now we'll have half as many murders.
The purpose of a police department is to investigate crime and arrest the perpetrators. For 20-30 years progressive idealogy has infected criminal justice to the point that the administrative paths are filled with people taught differently and now we're seeing the fruits of that.

Haven’t checked him out so can’t give an opinion
he's a retired detective from Livingston Parish and has a popular crime podcast now. He and his followers have looked into a couple of cold cases.
Was just curious b/c this case from Alexandria/Beaumont made national headlines.
NBC News Podcast helps get indictment on cold case

Courtney’s case grew cold over the years but her family continued to push for answers.
In 2019, they joined forces with retired homicide detective and “Real Life Real Crime” podcast host Woody Overton.
After a deep dive into the case with countless interviews and months of dedication, he presented his findings on his podcast.
Detective Dryden wouldn’t comment on Overton’s findings and it is not clear if any information in the podcast led to the current arrest.

I don’t really do true crime shows/podcasts just because I essentially lived it for a few years when I was in homicide. But I may check him out

Go to Wrkf "Talk Louisiana" under latest episodes to hear today's show with Paul Rice & The Shed BBQ owner. Double murder of B.R. actor Louis Herthum's sisters talked about as well.

This simply isn't true. This case has dropped off the media radar because there's nothing to report.

Yeah Woody Overton stayed on the Alexandria police department’s arse and Courtney Coco’s mother was very vocal about the bullshite going on there. They both stayed on their arse and made them investigate it again. The guy that more than likely did it was arrested a few months back but had been walking free for years since that happened. I’m not sure I’d say Overton solved it but he definitely pushed them to not keep sweeping it under the rug. Props to him and Courtney’s family. I actually know one of her best friends and I’ve heard how the Coco family was being treated.

Easier to suppress the black violent crime stats if you don't have detectives to investigate.
