How could a DA solve the case, they don't investigate crimes.
Oh they most certainly can. They have their own investigators on payroll.

From a BRPD detectives mouth. The killer of this young lady has since been killed. At the time of the murder they were told by a previous chief not to put any extra effort into solving this murder she's no more special than any other victim in BR. Dude was a racist piece of garbage and I'm sorry this family was robbed of seeing justice because of that former POS chief
If this is the case, then the pressure of the department looking embarrassingly inept should be enough to name names. If this mystery man has been killed, and he was your suspect, then come out and fricking tell us. I'd like nothing more than to know this worthless piece of shite is in the ground. Tell us what you know so we all know justice was eventually served.

Someone already alluded to this: the killer was taken out by someone connected to her family or a hit since the case was weak and the cops/DA are looking the other way. Happens.

The ghetto knows who killed Allie, unfortunately those people stick by a stupid fricking code.
It’s about survival. They suffer consequences of talking to cops. It is not like the Mayberry land you live in.
The code has been mastered by the same people who complain about it. Trying getting a cop to snitch on another cop. Blue Wall of Silence. The hypocrisy of cops would be hysterical if it were not so troubling.

BRPD isn't resourced like major cities and our crime problem is bigger than people realize because so much crime is unreported and unsolved. Baton Rouge used to be a decent place to live back in the day. Sad what this city has become and will continue to become as the problem has spilt over into neighborhoods across town. Take LSU's tailgating/brawl problem for example, the cancer will spread further and further as long as there is no spine from leaders.
This situation started under Broome and apparently continues under Mayor Edwards. Seriously, what has this joker done since being elected? He should be working with LSU officials to address the hoodrat brawl on campus last weekend. It’s bad for LSU and bad for the city.

It's either that, or they're completely inept and fricked all of this up from the beginning to end. And now they'd prefer we just don't bring it up anymore.
OR there just isn’t enough evidence to arrest someone and charge them. It happens, often.
Besides that, word on the street for a while not has been that her killer is dead.

Sounds like typical rumor BS with no proof to backup the claim. I'm sure the detective knew this first hand and I'm sure the detective told you this exact thing first hand too.
bro I am some random guy on a random board I give two shits what you think. But that is what he told me plus there was a prostitute that witnessed this murder but did not come forward till later

Apples and oranges. Pointing out the "Blue Wall of Silence" doesn't magically excuse protecting a murderer who gunned down a college student in the early morning hours of September 22nd, of 2022. Defending a "no snitching" code when it shields violent crime isn't about survival, it's about complicity.

You made the argument that "hey ya know what, if he's dead anyway, what's the point in trying to get closure for the family of a murdered child?"

You take every confidential informant you have and you tell them that the stress to solve is high. You tell them that we must make an arrest on this one and it's never going away. Then you increase patrols there. You put more cops in the ghetto than you've ever had before. You show with force that you're going to break the backs of everything there until people start snitching. Do you think it's possible someone did this, and told nobody? Seriously? One of the highest profile murders in the last decade and nobody in Brookstown or Scotlandville is fricking talking about it?
Maybe you use prison intelligence. Somebody in the can knows something. Let it be known that this is still a hot button issue and they're looking for anything and everything they can get to name a suspect. Who heard anything? Come forward. Information is rewarded.
This is real life, not a movie.

Yeah, that's all we need, the family of the killer to sue and get a fat check for defamation.

Bruh put down the fricking crime podcasts and enter back into reality.
Based on what? Your feelings?
What cops? You do understand BRPD is vastly undermanned, right? Nobody wants to be a cop and the ones applying are not the ones you want patrolling the same hoods they come from.
No, it’s just to you. Us, rational folks, understand that this isn’t a movie. You can’t just invent evidence that doesn’t exist. You can’t name suspects without evidence to back it up unless you want to open yourself up to potential lawsuits. You can’t make arrests based on feelings.
Without sounding like a menstruating woman, what are the ways? Since you seem to be very much in the know on the inner workings of homicide investigations, I’m curious what these ways are.

Dumb take. The mayor has done a lot for the city/parish in regards to blight, garbage, and flat out corruption of the previous administration. Have you seen the number of people from the Broome admin who are under indictment? He’s done wonders in restoring some faith in parish government. And has extended an olive branch to St George understanding that a healthy St George is good for the parish as a whole. It is night and day. I support this man and we all should; we do not want to go back to Broome/Gravy and the rest of the parasites of our community.

Why? You think police like the public to bring up cases they have failed to solve?
They hate it and wish those cases would be forgotten.

Yea. A dead suspect does not close a case.

lol. You can’t defame a dead person.

I never said it excuses anything. Many cops are just lying hypocrites. You can defend them and say cops keeping quiet is different than the streets keeping quiet all you want, but the analogy is not apples and oranges.
You have never lived in the ghetto. Easy to take the high ground when you live in suburbs with gated fences and HOAs or rural areas with no neighbors.
I am not condoning or defending anything. I am just stating how things are and the reason for silence. When they and their family are physically threatened for talking to cops, they mind their own business.
But, to think cops in B.R. are just ignoring the case seems unlikely. They got results in the Stanka investigation pretty quickly.

Actually, you're right. I don't know what I'm thinking.
We should just stop talking about it. This one is unsolvable. I'll lay off BRPD. They did their best. RIP.
On with your lives. Geaux Tigers.
