Ya, that's not a good look.

(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
(h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
i'm sure this will bring out that faux outrage, too, right?

Nit pick all you like. She pulled a publicity stunt and kept doubling down on it.
Your previous post:

You don’t have to follow the Flag Code to be respectful.
Btw, most of what you are describing aren’t even code violations, even by the strictest interpretation so not sure what you are going on about.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
(e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
(f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
I think this covers everything he pointed out.
Honestly, I think it was a simple lapse on her part in a period of super high emotion. 90% of the flag code violations I have seen were simple ignorance with no intent to disrespect the flag. My neighbor would let his Chinese made flags get ratty (admittedly we live in a wind tunnel) so I bought him an American made Collins US flag since I couldn't stand to see the ratty ones. He knew better but he really didn't set out to disrespect the flag. I am a stickler for flag etiquette from my time both as a Boy Scout and as a soldier, this is one reason I personally don't fly it because I am not always available to show it the level of respect I think it deserves. That said I don't think every violation I see is a sleeper agent from the Soviet era.

You said it had been going on for a while, but now you say it was under way. The article was posted online on June 6th. The WC kicked off on June 7th. Neither way put it is accurate.
And we're not even addressing the fact you claim it was HER PR stunt, like she reached out the SI writer to do the interview and coordinated with her on its release. I mean, I guess that's possible, but you'll need to bring some evidence of it for me to buy that.
ETA: Anyway, I'm heading out for the day so will no longer be able to respond. It's been fun watching you twist yourself into a pretzel. Have a good weekend, blu.
