Because he’s white and the others in the car were black. Seriously, It’s optics. The DA couldn’t give the white kid a deal and prosecute the black guys. It would have interjected race into this even more than it already is and the story would no longer be about Madison Brooks. It would instead be about race and the “systemic issues” in the justice system
If all were the same race then the driver likely would have been given a deal. I still wouldn’t be surprised if they give him an 11th hour deal though.

I think what the defense attorney is trying to do is blame the anal bruising noted in the autopsy to the encounter she had the night before. Evidently she complained about it to a friend thru text message(s). That, on top of no DNA found in the genital area, may provide a juror the reasonable doubt he is looking for.
There are soooo many facets to this case. Joe Long is definitely earning his money, regardless if he's a slimy cocksucking defense attorney.
