Yes, actions have consequences. I suppose if you want to act like an emotional woman and throw logic out the window...go ahead

This joke of a judge will probably allow it in in hopes the accused go free. No competent judge would allow it.

Right because acknowledging statistics is totally illogical

So that explains why they dropped her off in freezing cold and she walked in front of an oncoming car?

And all rapes are contingent upon whether the victim had sex the previous day?

The accused is black, right? Adult, right? The girl was 14?

I’ve said it before; being a dictator for a couple years would be wonderful.

If someone continually tells you to let them out of the car right now, would it not be kidnapping to refuse? That is a legitimate legal question

If someone demands you let them out of your vehicle but you happen to be on say a busy interstate what then?

Or your passenger is admittedly drunk, it's 2AM, it's freezing cold, and don't know their whereabouts?

Or why not drop her off at a store? Or the police precinct in proximity? Or just call 911?

But all those options were things innocent and honorable people do. So they were off the table?

I truly am not sure what would be worse, to lose a daughter in this fashion or to have her utterly dragged through the mud in full public display by slimy defense lawyers. I would have to leave the country or something. I truly don't know how I would be able to handle this.

Would kill me as a father to first off lose my child, then find out what (still allegedly at this point) happened to her right before she died, and then hear about the life she's been living while I sent her off to college. There's so much going on here and it's all just bad. How Mr. Brooks hasn't completely lost it yet is beyond my understanding.

Lets stick with what happened here. They dropped her off in a parking lot after driving around multiple areas.

Would it be kidnapping if they didn’t let her out if she was demanding it?

Did they? That’s news to me.

Regardless, dropping her off wasn’t a crime. The fact that she apparently couldn’t give them a valid destination and got struck by a car in the middle of Burbank right after they left does speak to her level of intoxication, though (IMO).

I did - see below.

How is this known? The parking lot part?

No sober, reasonable person would consider it kidnapping had they postponed offloading her until they got to the police precinct considering the alternatives. Or they could've called 911. And wouldn't that have excused any accusation of kidnapping?

But then again that would've required innocence and nobility.

That is my only point

The rape is 100% the responsibility of the rapists and not hers. As that requires intent to harm. Her death is her responsibility IMHO as her inebriates nature did not allow for her to give directions to her own home or the ability to insure she got there. Thats hard for some to here

The morality of dropping her off is completely separate from any legal standing

Why has this dude not rolled over on the others?

The DA should make him a deal to testify against the actual rapists.
