Obviously you can’t claim a fear for your life if you chase someone down who is running away.
Now once a fight for control of the shotgun starts then one could claim they are in fear for their life and make an argument for lethal force.
There are better ways to handle this if you suspect a robbery is taking place like call the police and just follow the guy and don’t engage.

What are you supposed to do when some a-hole pulls a gun on you. If you try to stop them from doing it, it's "stand your ground" because the initial assault/false imprisonment from the act of pulling the gun somehow doesn't count.
Stop and talk to them? Why the hell should you have to do that? How do you know they aren't trying to rob you?

Their truck was parked in the middle of the road with a guy in the bed holding a handgun.
They didn’t just stumble upon him.
I’m willing to bet the guy filming was following the guy from the robbery site and the two in the truck were waiting to apprehend him.
Problem is, they aren’t fricking cops. At least the aren’t on duty and they aren’t able to arrest someone running down the street.

Is there any reference as to who taped the shooting and why that person was following and taping the deceased and the 2 men in the truck?

He was following the guy probably from the scene of the crime and called the two in the truck to help apprehend him.

Even if this guy was the burglar and even of they saw him in their house, you can not chase someone down and shoot them.
The killers were the aggressors here by the simple act of chasing him down and for that they will all be locked up

That video looks bad. It looks like the guy just tries to jog around the passenger's side of their truck and the guy pulls the shotgun. He responds to the shotgun being pulled and gets shot in the confrontation.
The guy jogging appears to avoid confronting them until the shotgun is pointed at him.
The article says 2 shots, but it seems like you hear 3.

From what I have read they had followed him for a while and he went a different direction or something and got away from them. Whoever was filming probably saw them chasing after him and started filming.

We obviously don't know the whole story. But regardless, these guys are just plain stupid. Again, I have no idea what all happened, but with this video and all, to me, just comes across as itching for a reason to shoot. Now that Talcum X is on the case, these baws are doomed.
