They can't withhold water I wouldn't think especially on longer flights .. so how's that going to work???

Glad I went to Africa and Puerto Rico last summer ... and perhaps airlines won't get any more money from me if this isn't a short term thing.

Meh most of these "hardasses" aren't exactly the traveling types. The big family vacation is a little condo in a high rise in Orange Beach.

Once things calm down to where discretionary air travel is back in play though, if airlines keep this rule I think you’ll see a lot of people weigh the pros and cons and decide it’s not worth it. Wearing a mask for 3-4 hours?

I’m not giving up my island vacations over a mask. Don’t love it but small price to pay even if it’s ridiculous. We just got the n95 masks with vent for exhalation for the whole family. My husband will have to resume work travel eventually and no way I’m giving up international travel to vacay at Orange Beach.

airlines are doing everything they can right now to not issue refunds

Yep...I've been trying to get a refund since March for a trip that was canceled. Even bought the insurance.

Also, booked through Travelocity. They won't answer a call if you aren't traveling within 72 hours. The airline won't take the call since I booked through Travelocity. I pretty much figure I've just made a donation to the pilots' fund of the airline.

Schedule another trip and go! Get a nice face mask. Don't let that stop you! It will help the airlines and help you to overcome fear and be braver. Don't worry, you probably won't die. Just the deep state that wants you to think you will!

Short term? It's been 2 months of this already with no end in sight. This mandate should have come out on day 1 and if it made a difference we would've noticed by know. Just keep grandma and grandpa at home instead of screwing everyone else over for flying/traveling.

I'm in the same boat that people can wear masks if they want (i've seen it all over asia in airports) but forcing them to for every aspect of their life (grocery store, pharmacy, church, traveling, beaches, etc.) is not okay. I also understand that private businesses can do as they choose and we as people can make up our own minds of where to give our business to. If I don't agree with what the airlines are doing in requiring masks, they're not getting my business. Can't blame a consumer for not buying a product they don't want.

All of this. If a private business requires it then that is what this country is about. But, people should have been wearing masks on flights and in airports since January, voluntarily.

I had to cancel a flight for next week. I really just want my goddamn money back. That's too much to ask.

I'm not scared ... I just refuse to wear a mask. I'm in that "selfish" group I guess.

You'd have to be pretty stupid or really desperate to either hop on an airplane or think a mask is going to do jack shite, if you believe all of these precautions are warranted in the first place.

Yeah I’m not sure a disposable paper mask is going to do anything more than the airplanes filtration system will do.

You’re in a tube all breathing the same air that’s circulating throughout the cabin.

More nonsense.

I got an amazing deal on a flight this summer. It will be an amazing trip as well. I'll wear the mask if required. I also understand airplanes are small and cramped. I'll still avoid having to wear a mask for a routine shopping trip.

Problem solved

Or just go ahead and wear a mask in a tight public space like that

Or are you just way too edgy and alternative cool
