I know several over 30 people (married with kids in some cases) who skateboard to and from work regularly.
What does the OT think of them doing that? Weird to see mom leave house on a skateboard?

I think it's impressive.
Back in college at LSU, I tried to ride a friend's skateboard (long board) down the hill by the Cox. I busted my arse.

It all depends on how good their insurance is.

It doesn’t bother me at all.

My first week living in Chicago I saw a dude, in a three piece suit I could never afford, skating down the sidewalk with his fine leather briefcase. I guess he was doing something right.

Hey, let's connect with the hive mind to see if something is socially acceptable!

When I turned 28 and moved out to the suburbs I stopped really caring or being judgemental about what other people do.
If they enjoy skateboarding to work then awesome.

There is an oncologist in Covington that rides a skateboard around town. Then again, he occasionally dresses up like an elf or pirate for holidays or events. With his profession, he probably views the world differently from the rest of us. By all accounts, he is an excellent doctor and a wonderful person. If he wants to ride a skateboard, then I say have at it.

Sounds like a great way to avoid driving to work. I don’t think we should call people who find alternative methods to commute weird.
My cousin skateboards to work in manhattan and is a v successful lawyer nearly 40 w/ 2 kids

Commuting 45 minutes to an hour each way in bumper to bumper traffic is no way to live life bro.
I’ve had periods where I was able to walk to work and fricking loved it. A stress free, easy 15 minute walk was the best commute.
If someone wants to skateboard to work more power to them. In fact, I am jealous.

Why would we shun outdoor physical activity?

Hey! Let's have a society with norms of behavior and rites of passage instead of a chaotic shitshow for man-children! Because NASA didn't play adult kickball on the moon, they played fricking golf!

Well they’re riding longboards so I think they’re a bunch of figs who couldn’t shove it or kick flip to save their life.
I can kick flip on demand at 42 years old.
