Not sure if of any importance and girl was being deliberate with her wording to avoid any potential lawsuit from Levine, but her direct quote was:
"Essentially, I was having an affair..."
and not
"I had an affair with..." or "I slept with..."
By throwing in "essentially" seems like it could be a roundabout way to imply flirtatious messages over social media over a period of time could be considered an affair in her eyes.
