Can we all kindly fricking stop gumming up this thread with theoretical and alternative history debates and degrees of systemic blame distribution?

Some posters on this site can't help themselves. Every disaster is a means for them to push their ideology on a bunch of people who don't want to read it.

The problem in BR is the generations of poor blacks that have become entitled and the justice system goes along with it. The school districts go along with it. No one says anything because they are scared. People in BR won’t stand up for what is right but will quickly blame Hurricane Katrina - which was TWENTY years ago. I’m here because of Katrina too - a lot of white people are, and most of us aren’t criminals. So say what the actual problem is, not some half assed excuse.

Don’t disagree with anything you said.

For frick’s sake this is tiresome and irritating when most of us are here to try and see if anything new has been posted or reported or known about just what the frick happened

It happens every time there's a tragedy like this. A bunch of people trying to out virtue signal each other by by showing how angry they are.

The Mountain Brook shopping district is more akin to Towne Center.

Ehh…Mountain Brook is one of the 30 wealthiest subdivisions in the US. I would describe it closer to a shopping area in a ski resort town in the summer. It is surrounded by the zoo, botanical gardens, multiple golf courses, pedestrian trails, and its fair share of $10M+ homes. Once you cross an imaginary line in Birmingham, there is basically no crime to speak of. I live in Hoover (close to 100,000 in population) and there were only 11 robberies in 2024. The largest indoor mall in the Birmingham area is also in Hoover. Go further out and crime drops even more. One of my sons lives in Chelsea, one of the next big growth areas, and they had zero robberies or burglaries.

LOL. Not confirmed but I’m sure it is. We all will quickly switch over to the white trash comments if needed.

Because it looks like the only thing you care about is whether people blame Katrina or not.
I was asked, I answered, and people have been making comments to me about it since

It’s terrible that an innocent child’s life has to be taken because people don’t know how to be productive members of society.

If any of the shooters has been in trouble and let loose by a liberal judge, the judge mess to face charges, too.

I actually believe holding judges criminally accountable for reduction/communion of sentences that leads directly to a violent crime being committed would help stop some of this shite.

No, but I’ll go on record saying that it’s multiple black people.

Completely agree although some on here don’t think that would be effective.

I’ll go a step further and say it was ONLY black people shooting.
