OP said it was an AMA and that's important information. If he's 40 and single and hasn't had sex in 10 years it's a LOT different than 40 and married and no sex since he was 30

Ironically this hits way too close to home. I'm 41 and haven't had sex at all since right at 30 ironically. So for me it's actually been 11 years. Really can't believe it to be honest.

I know when me and the wife have a particularly good round, it leaves me and her both wanting more within the next day or two. I can't imagine fighting that feeling for a decade unless maybe the sex you did have sucked and wasn't special enough to ignite that feeling
