Have faith in our postal system! What could go wrong?

A Michigan woman got quite a surprise when she went to her mailbox this week -- amid her regular bills and junk mail was a postcard that had been mailed almost 100 years ago.
quote:
Later she noticed that the card was postmarked October 29, 1920. It had her Belding, Michigan, address but was written to someone named Roy McQueen in faded cursive writing.
quote:
Keech, 30, said she has no idea what delayed the card, which was mailed decades before she was born.

Some poor SOB has probably been riding it in on a horse all this time.

It's kind of like the standard transmission: superior to the alternative in every way, but impossible to explain to the anime-addled brain.

I can only think of one:
1. Prevents theft by 99.95% of Millennials and/or Gen Zs.

Hey it got delivered.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds....but some shite gets lost for a long time.
USPS lost a parcel addressed to me for 4 months this year.

Makes you feel like a race car driver, get powerful self-validation saying you can drive one if you're over the age of 50, and you have to shift at inconvenient times so it's harder to text and drive.

Dude, Millennials are old now.

Fuel economy, able to stay in your preferred powerband, and no loss of power from the torque converter off the top of my head.
There's a reason why dual-clutch transmissions are a thing.

For the last 99 years, poor Roy has probably ignored those texts telling him a parcel in his name was ready to be retrieved like I have been doing the last few months.

But they still can’t drive a stick.

1) More fun to drive.
2) Look like a badass while doing it.
2.5) Anti theft device, which may or may not matter depending on the neighborhood you live in.
3) You get to scare people that pull up too close behind you at a light when you roll backwards.
4) More fun to drive.
