Just went to the website and y'all weren't lying about the limited menu. It was never huge to begin with, but that's pretty small. You have to really like one of those 4 sandwiches to make a visit.

Milk Bar has 12 sandwiches (not even counting poboys) and they're creative as well. So strange that T&tW got the praise and exposure it did/does when there are unique sandwich shops all over the country, and even just the city of NOLA.

When I’m in the mood for good sandwiches made by crazy liberals in the Garden District, I will go to Stein‘s every single time

The picture I posted was cropped. This is the whole thing which is the first thing listed on the restaurant website. He’s also posted trannies talking ab how they are the only truly free individuals bc they aren’t living by societies norms…. Will he also admit that it’s almost exclusively blacks committing hate crimes against Asians?? Lol

What a bunch of pandering. Of course I guess if you want to make money in NOLA, you have to kiss some arse.

A couple of friends of mine, that are generally speaking very intelligent people with careers that require brains, were chatting yesterday about their right wing family members.

They were talking about family members mentioning children being brought to drag shows, drag storytime, etc. And they said, "First, there's nothing wrong with children being around people in drag." (Ok, I wouldn't personally do it, but I can live with that on its own) And then they said, "My relative was saying the drag queens were stripping and that it was adult rated. Which I mean.. I seriously doubt that."

And I just sat there thinking to myself.. We live in a world with endless information at our fingertips via the internet. Rather than say, "I highly doubt that's what happened".. why not actually look into it?

A 5 second Google search would reveal that children were in fact in attendance at a drag show with a neon lit sign that said, "It's not gonna lick itself". Why would you just say you highly doubt it happened and assume your relative is exaggerating when you can just Google it?

They also thought the story about a school teaching first graders to masturbate was unlikely to be true and another exaggeration by their family. WHY ARE WE NOT LOOKING THIS UP AND FINDING REAL ANSWERS? I do not understand how people intentionally put their head in the sand and say, "I doubt that's true" when they can actually find out whether or not it is true.

I was left leaning up until 2020, and I did the same shite. And I look back and how stupid and naive I was and can't believe it. I cannot believe friends that are highly intelligent otherwise haven't found the light. I'm not saying you need to become some crazy extreme right winger. But how have these reasonable people not looked at the lunatics that even their "moderates" are becoming and look elsewhere?

No one wants to. It’s better/easier to ignore (be ignorant) than find out the truth. Everyone wants to stay in their nice & comfy bubble. But at what costs?

The food can be good and overrated at the same time.

He makes some interesting food and some is just a miss. Like most places that take off the wait ends up not being worth the food.

I tried it one time and came away unfulfilled and poorer because of that experience. I should have hit the corner store on Magazine and Jackson for a better sandwich at a more reasonable price.

Nah. Grease some palms? Maybe. But I've never heard of people out and out clamoring for this goofy uber-woke shite.

Yea, I know it doesn't stop people like these clowns from doing it, but I can't think there are a lot of people hinging their business decisions on some sort of 'you better do this, or else!' mentality.

The other thread got nuked for some reason, but I posted in there that he currently offers the following:

1. Tomato Sandwich
2. Bologna Sandwich
3. Collard Green Melt (which is the only one that looks appealing).
4. Ham Sandwich
5. Vegan Fake Chicken Sandwich
6. Burger

Fries, chips, two salads, and a pot pie.

A tomato sandwich, fries, and a drink runs you over $20 plus tip and a 15% service fee.

So after it's all said and done, you're at almost $30 for a tomato sandwich, fries, and a drink. Maybe $3 worth of food.

Insane and unreal that anyone would pay for that.

Their menu looks 100x more appealing.

That's crazy. My only guess is they must do a ton of tourist business because there's no way locals are going regularly to a place that only has those few items.

I don't mind a place with a small menu, but typically those places do interesting specials to pad the small menu. Ex: Overpass Merchant

Edit - LOL, and the tomato sandwich is out of stock currently.

I can't figure out what you're asking. Who has the exact same items on their menu? Nobody. Who serves their own creative sandwiches? Lots of people.

Unless the only sandwich you like in this world is one of the 4 they serve, the text you quotes is correct. "Plenty of great sandwich shops in New Orleans"
