In what world?

It’s deli meat sandwiches and every single one of them is worse than its counterpart 2 blocks away at Stein’s.

And as left as stein is it’s not even 10% of the T&W guy.

I've enjoyed T&tW when I've eaten there, but on no planet should it have been named best new restaurant in America by Bon Appetit.

Mason seems like a nice dude, even though I despise his politics, but he was way out of his element on the show. I completely get his schtick and it works for the restaurant, but it doesn't translate to Iron Chef. I think by the time the roti came out on plastic dinosaurs, you could feel the judges' annoyance.

He’s got a “black trans lives matter” on top of the restaurant instagram.

Not even just BLM. He went to the next level of woke.

I sometimes feel like he's such this bizarre over the top cliche of hipster uber-wokeness, that it's got to just all be some sort of brilliant masterful troll.

That's kinda his schtick. He does it all to get a big rise out of people. Even his food is "How ridiculous can I make this". Rebellious teenagery which is probably a fun way to live but would get old long term.

I disagree. Plenty of great sandwich shops in New Orleans. I’m just not overly impressed with fried pot pie, a tomato sandwich, or a bologna sandwich with Duke’s Mayo and potato chips I guess.

If you like overpaying for a limited menu of mediocre sandwiches……it’s awesome.

This exactly. I have friends and relatives whose kids go to Tulane, and everyone of them is like, oooh, we have to go to the Turkey and Wolf. It's apparently a requirement. To a man and woman, when they do go, the consensus is meh, it was fine.

Yeah, it isn’t bad. It’s just not that great, and gimmicky

Steins is way better. Would rather get a mediocre po boy than T&W.

He paid a lot of money to get that. PR isn't cheap....unless your sister is doing it for you.

Ok, that's fine. I think a lot of his food is great.

Anything with roti bread is phenomenal.

I will say it has not been as good since the pandemic as they have limited the menu quite a bit and haven't had as good of specials.

Dude is a douche, no doubt though.

Looks like an overpriced hipster establishment. Wouldn't eat there. Jeff Mauro would whip that guy's arse and smear his face in mayonnaise because Jeff Mauro is the sandwich king.

His wife seems like a really sweet girl. I wonder if being married to someone who is "a performer" in personality gets old, or if he turns it off when it's just them two.

I think he's funny and likable, but like you said, it would get old if never toned down.

He seems unstable if it's serious. I live in Seattle and even the CHOP/CHAZ supporting restaurants haven't gone nearly as far as this guy. I haven't seen a single restaurant in this super far left city go as performatively woke as this guy has taken his restaurant's website and social media.

Tukey & The Wolf is crazy overrated, overpriced hipster froof. Anyone that would stand in line to get in that place is crazy.

Nah, he'll be okay in NOLA... Aside from his politics, all the hype that place received was puzzling. I was hugely underwhelmed and it was damned expensive. Never felt the need to return. I used to laugh every time I drove by and saw tourists lined up to get in.

Netflix most certainly has been bowing to the left... but it's recently come back to bite them in the arse, so they've had to walk some of it back.

Nah. A lot of people think it's good but I, and plenty of local NOLA liberals I know even, think it's WAY overrated. Because it is.
