Maybe our tiger has a prior engagement. You know, the one who lives within spitting distance of the stadium.

Y'all, I can't...

A damned carpetbagger tiger. And you can bet Jeff isn’t the one paying for it. What an a-hole.

Landry was always going to win reelection provided he doesn't do anything monumentally stupid and probably even if he does. That doesn't make him any less of a tool.

Is it not stressful for Uga,

Without being too morbid, Georgia had a really bad series of UGA deaths with way shorter life spans than that short lived breed usually has. That's with the poor dogs collapsing on cold doggie beds to handle the heat of a fall game.

For more than you'd want to know, UGA's wiki will tell you how short some of their careers were,

Not a fan of this idea.

If they do this, he better be the frick out of the stadium before the goddamned field level fireworks go off.

Mike the Tiger won't be the one making the trip inside the Stadium this weekend as he'll remain in his habitat. Instead, Jeff Landry will be bringing in an Out of State Tiger into Louisiana to serve in the role as LSU's live mascot.

Yeah asking about the cost and who's paying for it along with this seemingly consuming lots of the governor's time are silly meaningless questions.

I guess you have no clue as to how much the coaches and players are making Saturday?

I believe this had more to do with how they were breeding them. Quick read, but that was my take from your link.

That said, I’m sure it’s stressful.

Landry is a fricking retard. What a horrific idea, especially for someone who has done nothing for this state despite having everything in his favor.

Landry has to be the biggest clown in the state and we elected him governor. Out of state Tiger what the hell. To bring it all the way over here and parade it around the stadium and bring it all the way back is unnecessary

Who wanted this exactly?

When I lived in Montgomery for eleven years a friend of mine introduced me to a former Bama football player. Later that evening the topic turned to college football. The Bama guy was talking about the stupid traditions that exists in the SEC. He said that Tennessee played Rocky Top during the entire game and you eventually get tired of listening to the song. He said the eagle flying over Auburn's stadium before the game was really a neat tradition. He said that UGA just stood on the sideline during the entire game. He then talked about LSU and having the tiger in a cage near where the team ran out. He said that he felt sorry for the tiger because some players would throw water at him while he was parked next to the team. He said that his teammates would constantly punch his cage trying to get the tiger's attention. He said that Bear really got pissed when he saw that his players were tormenting the tiger. As a punishment for tormenting the tiger Bear extended their practice time by one hour and a half that was in effect the entire week. He definitely remembers the cheerleaders riding on top of the cage when the tiger was paraded around the stadium.

I don’t agree with bringing in another to act like the mascot for 1 game, but I have thought that LSU with its vet school should play a part in sheltering and treating tigers someone had illegally or were found in poor conditions while trying to find them a permanent home. They can also help promote conservation of tigers in the wild. Maybe partner with Exxon if they still use a tiger for anything.

Some of the rescues can be fairly young and still in their more playful and more inquisitive stages unless damaged by abuse.

Bringing in the one Tiger - official or temporary resident - that’s comfortable would be ok (only Mike is official though).

The game would be known as The Curse of the Out of State Tiger.
