My biggest issue was when the restaurants were only open for pick up.
I went out of my way to support my favorite places BUT it turned into a total cluster frick for some of them.
NOBODY answered the phone,there was no way to order off their website and I had to stand in line to place my order outside in their parking lot and all this happened after they had been closed for 2 weeks and hopefully had time to regroup and prepare for pickup/takeout orders.
I get that places are short on help and I didn't mind the wait for food but God almighty,many places are still gonna have to survive off pick up/delivery orders and they aren't equiped for it.
Do something about making the process of ordering easier for the customer.Invest in a POS app or update the websites.

Think about it man. You got a pretty seeet gig. You show up and screw around a little but until it gets busy. You rush around for a few hours and then you clean it all up. You don’t ever have to take your work home with you. So, why are you letting it get to you now?

Went to Chimes today. Was awesome. The first beer I had was pretty gross though I just assumed it was an old keg so I switched to a different beer and it was fine

I work in the industry and have been deemed essential since this all started. For the most part people have been generous and patient, but holy hell there have been a handful of times where I’ve been less than polite to dickheads. When we had to go strictly to Togo’s, it took a good week to figure out a workable system and then we just kept refining it. Assholes would be parked in their cars honking to get my attention while scrambling around the big arse parking lot. Now that it’s semi open, people come inside to be rude. Had a guy stand behind me a couple nights ago telling me to hurry up while I was on the phone taking an order.
Side rant: if you call the fricking restaurant and the first thing you hear is a recording that says “our dining room is open”, hang up the damn phone. Don’t connect the call just to ask me if the dining room is open. No, we just added that to frick with you.
Side side rant: If you order ToGo food, know what fricking name you placed your order under. Don’t tell me your name is William, but you really put it under John and then get pissy because your food is taking a really long time. Motherfricker “John’s” food has been sitting here since you parked, but you wanna be mad because you told me the wrong name. Enjoy your cold food dickhead.

Can’t speak for this restaurant but where I work we had at least 2 or 3 answering phones, 1 person expoing, 1 person bagging the food and 1 or 2 running it out to cars. Even then, the phones literally never stopped ringing. Our online system constantly crashed because it wasn’t designed to handle the insane amount of online orders company wide. The servers couldn’t handle it. The other problem was even as we increased our server capacity, the amount of Togo orders kept increasing week after week so it was a battle to stay ahead. We peaked at 1000 ToGo orders on Mother’s Day.

Another poster, from another state, mentioned rules in his state that seemed to not allow restaurants to purchase eggs from retail sources.
I think that there is something that we're missing, but real responses are no fun on the ot.

If there is somewhere I really want to go and they require mask then I am not going to let the fact they require a mask stop me from going. I come from the school of "better safe than sorry" so if I have COVID19 and don't know, if a mask helps me not spread it around, the least I can do is wear a mask so that I don't spread it around with the chance to pass it to older folks.
Its a minor inconvenience.
