A little plea from the restaurant industry as we attempt to reopen

Please, dear God, please cut us some slack.

We can't get fully staffed, mainly because we can't take the volume that justifies a full staff. It has very little to do with the UI situation.

We are struggling to provide full menus due to the food providers not having enough product. Everyone is trying to restock their business at the same time. Plus upstream factories and mills have closed, so supply is stretched thin.

Same goes for alcohol. It may be a short minute for our distributers to get stock in for everyone. Your choices may be limited at places. It's not our fault.

And please don't get pissed because you can't find brunch.

To the assholes that bitched us out last Sunday because nobody was serving brunch: frick you up the goatass with a big rubber dick.

Cook your own fricking eggs Benedict.

Because you can buy the eggs cheaper at the grocery store than restaurants can get them right now.

This is a transition that will take some time. Just work with us here, as we are trying to learn what this new situation entails.

Thank you for your time.

Some assholes here will say watch your attitude, you are a lazy millennial that deserves to be ridiculed and shite on because you work in the service industry.

People that get angry at the restaurant staff when their order is slightly imperfect are trashy AF

I've always said you can judge a person by how they treat people in the service industry. My brother-in-law manages a nice seafood restaurant on James Island and he's totally swamped right now.

I got sub par service at my regular watering hole tonight that I tipped 40% for this reason.

It’s a bar where the bartender has to serve away from the bar going from improvised table to table.

Lots of slack given on repeated requests.

He earned it remembering my preferred drinks after 2 months.

Lots of people go into retail establishments looking for trouble. Mostly because they have shitty jobs and hate their lives, so they take it out on others

We are swamped too. But there are things out of our control that people need to understand.

Eggs tripled in price for restaurants to make sure that groceries would have them as they were considered to be more essential.

This hasn't changed yet. So restaurants aren't ordering a lot of eggs, hence brunch not being offered by most the first weekend we were allowed to open.

There are a lot of entitled assholes in this world. People think they deserve to have certain things available for them and if this is serious and people don't realize what's going on right now. That businesses are not able to function as normal which means there are certain services and dishes that will not be available to them then frick them.
