Haven’t they wanted to tear this thing down for a long time? It’ll never be removed in time

Met my first wife there at a Kirby Smith/Herget party in 1992.

Welp, no one in this thread will ever be elected to office or confirmed by the senate.

They had to remove asbestos and update to ADA standards to continue to use while the other student housing was being built.
Didn't realize this was the work being done. Just knew I walked by it a ton and it was under construction. Still no excuse for LSUs poor planning and having to waste the money redoing it in the first place.

Surprised it made it through its end without full scale SJW rioting about the name.

The smell of the elevator on Saturday morning will forever haunt me.

When they implode this thing, can you imagine the DNA that will fill the air?

'03-'04. Got to room in both "penthouse" suites (1401 and 1402). The place was a shithole, but the view of Tiger Stadium was nice. Not only did I get stuck in the elevator for 2 hours, but jackasses pulled the fire alarms three nights in a row during finals. Where can I watch the live stream of the implosion??

ahhh. the memories.
1999 - 2000 / 6th floor
As so many others have mentioned, the smell of the elevators will forever be lodged in my memory.

Kirby Smith Hall
This dump and that uninspiring Middleton Library is what is keeping LSU from being a truly beautiful campus.

I threw up in the hallways of Kirby Smith quite a few times. Good times man good times.

When I lived there, 1977 I think it was, a guy jumped off the roof and there was blood splattered up the side of the building from where he landed. The fire department came and washed it away.
And, if the walls in that building could talk,it could tell some tales.

From the posts here and from what I've heard, thank God I only had to spend a week in Kirby Smith during Boys State in summer 1981 (is Boys State still a thing?)
Spent my LSU years (early-mid 80s) at an apartment off Gardere (before it became ghetto; apartment's not even there anymore), North Stadium (a lot of fun, but no A/C, and of course hasn't been used as dorms for years), and the Pentagon (Zachary Taylor Hall; liked that the best, despite the lack of a/c).
