A dean is stepping down over her university's decision to drop Chick-fil-A

A dean at Rider University in New Jersey is stepping down from her post after the school decided to drop Chick-fil-A from a list of possible campus additions. The school's reasoning, says Dean Cynthia Newman, is an affront to her Christian beliefs.
Rider announced in November that it would no longer consider the fast food chain as a new campus restaurant option "based on the company's record widely perceived to be in opposition to the LGBTQ+ community."
quote:
Administrators wrote in a campus-wide email that the move was an effort to be more inclusive and that the chain's "corporate values have not sufficiently progressed enough to align with those of Rider."
quote:
"Rather, our intention was to foster a sense of respect and belonging of all members of the campus community, including those who identify as LGBTQ+."

I thought only liberals did this stupid shite?

The only winner here is the owner of the restaurant chain that gets to replace the chick fil A, and the owner and employees of that restaurant probably care as much of the LBGTQ "community" as do the owner and employees of chick fil A.

This is a weird hill to die on. I’m going to guess she has another complaint lined up for her impending law suit. Something to the effect that the university is discriminating against her and her religion or something like that

No, Liberals do it for stupid REASONS....
There is nothing wrong with having principals and standing up for them, the Lefties are just too fking stupid to pick good causes....

What about the LGBTQ+ students who love Chick-Fil-A? Seems to me Rider is being exclusionary and disrespectful to gay people who want chicken biscuits on their way to class.

When thanked for her tenure at the university, the former dean responded, "my pleasure".

I support her decision just because I don’t like the homos running around thinking they should have a voice.
But goddamn if that isn’t the ugliest face ive ever seen.

Are you fricking kidding me?
Quitting her job as dean over a fast food sandwich is principled?

She gave up a career and potentially her financial well being because she didn’t want to be party to something that she thought was wrong. She took on a risk for her principles.
On the other hand the board of the university denied a popular and well run chain restaurant on the basis of “perceived” opposition to the LBQT community. They took on zero risk. That is the definition of virtue signaling.

I mean this is a weird hill to die on. Quitting your job because the school didnt want to bring in a specific fast food chain? Like come on.
Now, putting that aside, I still dont understand how some of these people are triggered over CFA. They donate to FCA and the Salvation Army. They're Christian groups, so they arent going to go out and preach a pro LGBT message but they dont really have some anti gay agenda either, which is the way some of these people are acting.

I'm sure the book deal and all those upcoming appearances on Fox and Friends might help tide her over.
