Have a couple that do “billing” paper work for our dept. even though we have a whole billing dept in itself.

My company has 50 employees. I'm quite certain we could get all the work we do done with 25, maybe 20. I have many coworkers that I have no clue what their daily duties are.

All you need to know is that I always get the job done

I know what my coworkers "do", however I don't know what a lot of them do all day because it certainly isn't work

Sorry, I’m banging the secretary while you’re working on those TPS reports.

This is pretty much every job in government, right?

At least they are working instead of living off the government. If they aren’t producing anything for the business, that’s the company’s fault.

All of them.

It's like a circus clown car all methed up. When they show up.

There’s one guy who sits in a large office with just a laptop, no monitors. I’ve never interacted with him for any work related function. The only reason me or anyone else interacts with him is that the keys for company trucks are on a whiteboard in his office. Most of the time he doesn’t even acknowledge you if you grab a set of keys, even if he does it’s a grunt or mumble. When I first started, I thought he just kept track of the vehicles, as it turns out, he doesn’t even do that. I got nothing.

I don't directly work with anyone, but there is a younger guy in my office who is a hipster and the millennial women in other departments think he's the shite. One girl in particular comes by twice a day - sometimes for an hour or more.

He doesn't report to me, and she's not even in my department, but I was having lunch with her department head and he started talking about a girl who wasn't cutting it and that they had to have a performance improvement plan with HR and all of that. I said she'd probably get more done if she wasn't in my area all the time.

They reviewed video footage and she spent 6 hours+ a day out of her office just chatting with other people. They didn't fire her immediately, but within a couple months she took a job in retail. Office work wasn't for her.
