The Dems have weaponized the IRS to go after you middle class crackers!! You will bend the knee one way or the other!!

They don't have the capacity to go after everyone who gets paid from Venmo/under the table/huge influx of mexicans doing construction work. Now they'll work to track every single deposit you get and check you cash. Better not add up to 600 or you'll be paying taxes on it.

All those people coming from Mexico are gonna end up going the other way

Finally, and this is probably the most alarming part - The IRS essentially makes shite up and you have to comply. If they don't feel like working with you then you are fricked and have to do as they say. As they operate today they ARE the law.

Anyone who's dealt with the IRS or an audit probably knows what i'm talking about. If the particular agent feels like being unreasonable you are at their mercy. They are NOT an org that you want to get more power.

This isn't for going after rich people. rich people are the ones who write tax laws.

How do you figure this is a bad thing?

First, think about how each of those new hires is going to have to save the government more money than they're paid. Otherwise, what's really the point?

Second, think about how they're going to have to try to save the government all that money.

I out myself enough on this board as it is, just google 'IRS horror story' and you'll find some truly fricked up shite both recent and from decades ago. If they assert something, you basically have to go to legal war with them. They won't say 'oops we see the mistake you're talking about we'll fix it!' at least I have never had that fortune.

You don't need accountants, just people with an auditing background or a financial investigations background.

Yet you have 3,000 posts here since 2010, close to a post a day.

Doesn’t suck that bad, you’re addicted.

This is exactly where this is headed.

100% they will target political opponents.

So even though he paid sales tax on the cards when he bought them, he should still have to pay income tax when/if he sold the same cards?

ETA: I’m not saying you are wrong by the letter of the law. I just think it’s ridiculous that the government can tax you at every step of the way and get away with it.

Sales tax is a state tax, the IRS administers federal income tax. Take that up with your state.
