Can anyone confirm that? They are taking peoples phones? That seems particularly illegal and extremely ethically questionable. I understand that it’s emergency conditions, but this sounds like a nasty situation.
The connected family owners only add to the fire that’s sure to come from this.

Nursing home owners aren’t rich from taking care of the elderly, they are rich from providing the least amount of care required & milking Medicare & Medicaid for every penny they can get

No pictures or videos of this... 2,000 people stuck in a warehouse? There is no chance they took all the phones from those people. There would be pictures and videos of this if it happened.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that this is true because of this:
If they had 800 people in a warehouse from those 8 nursing homes I bet they had 10 at most nurses, assitants, caretakers, etc working in said warehouse. And I bet most of their time was spent on smoke breaks.
Also....did this facility even have electricity? Was it run on generator? I'd assume that Independence was in the path that did lose power...hell my mom in Franklinton was without power until yesterday AM.

Nursing home owner finds the cheapest facilities possible to house them + bills Medicare and FEMA through the gills for the evacuation and care costs = PROFIT

Wow. My boss has a few consulting contracts with Bob Dean but not sure if any of the involved facilities were hers.
I also know that Acadian helped to evacuate residents to Independence but not sure if this was the location.
So glad our residents are safe BUT that we were able to take in others from Thibodaux.

I truly hope that people here realize that the OWNERS and the staff are NOT the same. As in the staff, at least the staff that I can personally speak of which isn't many of course relative to the industry, LOVE and take great care of their residents.
The corporate assholes over my facility however, suck. That STAFF is a whole better story.

When my Grandma was in a nursing home & flooding was a possibility they prepared by bringing in a garbage bag & sharpie
Got 2 changes of clothes & made sure room # was marked on clothing & then placed in garbage bag with room # on the end of the bed
No other items were allowed
You also have to remember not everyone has a cell phone & not everyone has the mental capability or physical capability to grab a phone & put in their pocket

The family/friends of those poor souls need to protest at Edward's house & the owners house. March, chant, pray, sit, stand & refuse these criminals a moments peace.
