Just for reference. This is the know-it-all a-hole and her equally shitty husband along with their two weirdo kids. They live in Oregon.

Oh good Lord. The holidays have made you kind of a SJW, Pecker. I'm disappointed.

SJW? I'm trying to promote child-parent relationships built on honesty and respect. Behavioral science is pretty clear when it comes to parents bribing their children for obedience. We shouldn't be raising our children like we raise our dogs. Obedience should be based on a loving relationship, and respect for parental authority.

That said, I understand if you disagree and I respect your opinions. Merry Christmas!

You sure do post a lot of threads about parenting situations but you actually aren’t a parent. Why do you care so much?

You're no different than those non-parents who think parents should get their child's permission before changing his or her diaper.

Which is 1/10 of the purpose of Santa. And you aren't being honest here either. The science shows there's a difference with positive and negative reinforcement. So it depends on how parent's apply it.

Teaching love and respect is not 100% connected to how one behaves.

I happen to think that we benefit as a society when children are raised well.

The world is shitty enough. Let your fricking kids think there is SOME magic for the first few years of it's life.

Agreed...I am well aware of some of the shady things associated with Christmas(pagan tie-ins, yada) but damn, the kids love this, and never have/never will associate nefarious things with the holiday. So many of the best times of my life growing up...magical moments filled with fun and great memories, are from Christmas. These kids have the rest of their years with a better mind to come to terms with Christmas as they age and what it means to them moving forward. Taking those innocent childhood memories away from them is really scraping the barrel to me. Adults just need to get over themselves a bit more and focus on more appropriate things to concern themselves with.

So here you are... doing society a favor by going on TD's OT Lounge to convince a largely adult white male audience to abolish Santa one day after Christmas. So brave.

I’m just thankful you don’t have any of your own. Hopefully you’re gene pool will dry up as soon as you die.

My parents never told us that he didn’t exist, but I was always a skeptical child.

“What about houses without a chimney?”
“There’s no way that a sleigh could fit enough presents for everyone”
“There’s no way that one guy could go to every house in the world in one night”

These were my thoughts as a 4 year old.

In short, I never believed in Santa and thought that my friends in pre-k were idiots. As long as I got a Nintendo or bicycle then I didn’t gaf how it got there.

Oh and the notion that Christmas is about giving to a 4-8 year old is laughable. They want cool shite. I don’t think people enjoy giving more until they’re into their 20’s and some never do

I fricking hate this word. It’s code for “i’m A self-righteous cünt who knows better than you do and if you don’t do things the way I think you should you are wrong and I will try to destroy you.”

They make themselves the arbiters of what is and isn’t acceptable based on their myopic little worldview and expect all others to bow down. frick ‘dem.

I apologize if you misunderstood, but no one is calling for the abolishing of Santa. And I don't understand why race has anything to do with this discussion.

Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family.

Not a millenial. It's some granola eating Gen-X weirdo from the Pacific Northwest.

I am being serious. When my parents would tell me something I would always wonder "they use to tell me Santa Claus is real, how do I know they are not lying about......."
