I guess it's for use as a spread?

I use it for cooking savory dishes- it's a lot easier to get the salt level just right, especially true when broth/stock is involved (usually just a pinch is needed). I don't really use salted in sweet dishes, though

ETA: Also, Land O'Lakes is not good enough to justify paying more for it over the store brand.

Walmart is $2.98 for the same thing here. Where are you located? In the trick bag, is my guess.

Run out of that store now.

LOL at people who think this started with Biden.

We are feeling the last administrations inflation now, we won't see the full effects of the Biden administration for a couple of years.

Yup.

Well, we can always self-impose rationing, and get a taste of what our grandparents went through during World War II. Thanks Brandon for the real-life history lesson!

Well, if you just don’t buy things you won’t be affected by inflation.

While that is a ridiculous price, the butter market is pretty high right now. Butter is trading for over $2.50/lb as of yesterday.

Picture nicely summarizes the current administration if you think about it. Only thing missing is a fleeing C-17 in the distance.

Cheaper than what it traded for in 2017 and 2018 on average. Butter tanked in 20 and 21 for obvious reasons and for more obvious reasons has climbed back to higher levels. The Jan 22 futures had the largest jump.

I would say that supply and demand can rein in high prices but with today’s lean supply with COVID and high labor costs, I wouldn’t be surprised if companies looked at producing less and charging more for it as long as they still make a profit even though the profit may be smaller.

It would be similar a realtor trying to sell an expensive house that is a hard sell vs selling 10 cheap houses that are easy sales.
