Just finance it for 72 months and you can afford anything

If the wife is a primary driver, get the 4Runner Limited.
If it's you, get the TRD OR Premium model

Telluride (might be too big, also it's a Kia)
I had an Army buddy who was an Apache pilot. He and his wife drove Kias exclusively.

I've not heard good things about those, or Buicks
The latest models are actually pretty good. GM redesigned the timing gear on the 3.6L engine, and it actually turned out to be one of the segment's best motors.
The Acadia and Traverse still look like vans to me though. So does the Buick, but it has a higher quality feel and better styling IMO.

Acura RDX with Aspec package. Wife has one and loves it.
The OP might be able to find a leftover 2020 model MDX in that budget. Older technology, but it's an excellent vehicle all around.

Well this is a weird way to go about bragging you had sex.

Bought my wife the Honda Pilot Touring edition several days ago. That thing is nice, with Honda quality and longevity. $44k brand new.

Don’t forget to add a 30A sticker and stick family decal

Off lease X5. You should be able to find one with under 30k miles for around $35k including the extended warranty (2017-2018 MY). From your list the X5 is the best quality and most fun on road, just be prepared to sell (with poor resale value) or have a $3k emergency maintenance fund annually when you hit 80k miles.
While a GX or 4runner will be more reliable and have better resale, they are like driving a car from 2010. And they are gas guzzlers compared to X5. If you want to keep it for 20 years (as a daily driver for you down the road or a weekend off road vehicle) then go this route.
The newer X3s are almost as spacious as the older X5s, if you could find a lightly used X3 M40i that fits your budget I'd jump on that.
If you only plan on keeping the vehicle for 2-3 years just lease something.

Folks who said palisade...former Hyundai owner who upgraded to a Genesis. You can get a lower level trim Genesis GV80 in that range. Our genesis has been great.

Yes. He said while they did not hold resale value, he thought they were tremendous values and engineered very, very well for the money. That was about a decade ago, so not sure if he has maintained that as prices went up. I will say that Hyundai AND Kia have followed the Japanese model of quality/value and the customers will come. My old man loved his Hyundai.

we bought the T6 twin turbos and I have taken two road trips in it. when you need acceleration the vehicle gets it done even without the dynamc setting. putting it in dynamic and it is fast as shite

Driven Toyota my entire life...I was hesitant about the telluride because it’s a Kia. This thing is miles better than Toyota. My only regret is not purchasing it earlier. I went with the SX nightfall. You will not be disappointed. There’s a reason it has won a ton of awards...
