Exactly how would i go about getting proof of something that happened in 1998/99 , when god knows who was giving the shot, it was some random ‘healthcare’ company (and i use that term loosely) in an office building where i was working at the time.. and why should the onus be on me to even jump through such hoops? Flu shot is fine if you want it, but dont force others into it.
Patient safety should always come first. If you feel that strongly about the shot....you have plenty of options. Tell your pcp about your reaction and they sign off your medical exemption. Get the shot. Or don’t get the shot and lose your job. No one made you get a job at a place that this is expected of you. Anyone in healthcare has been dealing with this for several years.

This is why no one listens to or believes you dumbasses or the pharmacuetical corporations. You think you are more informed on this topic than people who spend every afternoon researching it because seemingly the entire world is working against them?
You trust multibillion-dollar corporations to give you impartial information on a product they are trying to sell you?
Universities you say? The same University research programs who receive 40% or more of their funding from Private Industry donations?
Governmental Regulatory Agencies you say? Do you mean regulatory capture? Are we talking about the same regulatory Agencies littered with former Executives of the very Industries they are supposed to be regulating?
History is full of examples of industry interests running smear and propaganda campaigns and suppressing research into the dangers of their product.

Well now I have to do a 180. I grew up pre-Chicken pox vaccine days, and never had the chicken pox.
I asked a Dr about getting the vaccine as an adult and he told me it was unnecessary as I was most likely immune.

Would be a different story if you worked in healthcare.
Varicella vaccine or proof of immunity(blood titers) is usually required for employment.

Just FYI Chicken Pox is much more severe for adults then children. We talked to our Ped about the vaccine and he said if we had concerns about the vaccine he has no issues delaying it or not issuing it but he did say he would highly recommend it pre-puberty bc Chicken Pox is a lot more to deal with once you are an adult.

Enough said. Probably as incompetent as Bobby Jindal. I'll take my medical advise from Bob Smith MD or Sally Washington MD. We are all born with an immune system, we can defend the flu on our own. Even working with someone who has taken the shot will expose you to it....then your own body will make antibodies.

Well padnah I can tell you right now with a great deal of certainty you can not live in the dorms at the University of Memphis without proof of immunization because I had to drive back home to get my daughters while they sat outside with all her gear on move in day.
And you can not attend public schools or my kids private school for that matter without proof of immunization.
(Not flu shot. But whatever the required immunizations are)
You are very very wrong.

I know it’s much more severe as an adult. I was wanting to get it. But my Dr advises against it for whatever reason.
Maybe I should get a 2nd opinion.

Flu shots should be mandatory for healthcare workers.
Just plain common sense.

Lol. I didn’t read all of your post.
If I had I would’ve realized you were one of THOSE people.
Go be a weirdo somewhere else.

Good. If you're going to put patients at risk you don't deserve to work in healthcare
Has nothing to do with that... Besides, Pt's put healthcare workers more at risk...

Essentia stands by its policy, saying that’s what it takes to keep patients and fellow workers safe from potential infections this flu season.
This is such a bs statement... I've worked in healthcare for 30 years, and it's just recently they made it mandatory that we take them... Prior to, there were never any issues...
It's all about money....

100% agree. Just like an employer can make the flu shot a presequisite for continued employment.

You do realize that the time you get the flu shot.....is during respiratory season?
So did it cross your mind that maybe, just maybe....the shot didn’t make you sick. That you just got sick at a time of year when many others also get sick with numerous other respiratory illnesses that are NOT the flu?
But that would mean using basic common sense wouldn’t it?

Well I'm not going to speak to Tennessee's laws because I don't know them but I do know that in Louisiana you can go to any school public or private without immunization. Almost all states have some sort of exemption usually Medical but many many many states have philosophical and religious exemptions written into law as well.
I also know from experience that school administrators will tell you that you have to be immunized because they're counting on your ignorance of the law. Often times it's they themselves that are ignorant of the laws as well. There was one private Montessori school that I was going to send my daughter to and we were all set to go and we shut it down when they told us that we would have to get immunizations. So I forwarded them the specific laws regarding immunization in the state of Louisiana and they resisted me greatly. They said they would have to consult their attorney. Well guess what? The school had been in business for over 50 years and my one challenge was all it took for them to be forced to change their school's policy
Lesson from this? Never rely on those charged with executing the law to inform you on what the law and your rights actually are. Not politicians, not judges, not cops, not School administrators or Healthcare personnel. Do your own research you'll learn a lot

There is absolutely no reason to force the flu shot on people. This is sad on so many levels.

Well...they should have just gotten the shot.
They are toxic. Why should people have taken that? It can't even protect you from the influenza virus.
