Keep in mind the doctors and nurses directing you to get vaccines are not immunologists nor virus experts. They only know what they are told and do not spend time researching all sides of an issue like this.
Do your own research on the topic. Doctors are too busy treating people to do the proper research
On that note, my pediatrician kept suggesting we get our kids vaccinated. Obviously there's nothing wrong with vaccinations if that's all they are but the problem lies in what else is in them. "Anti-vax" is a misnomer. Everybody I know that's "anti-vax" isn't actually against the vaccinations themselves. It's everything they're packaged with that people are suspicious of. Many of these vaccinations are packaged with preservatives to extend their shelf-life in dry storage. It's done to reduce product loss. In other words, for the bottom line.
Already knowing the answers to these questions, I asked my pediatrician if he could determine if any of these vaccinations could be obtained without preservatives or any extra additives as they are in many European countries as well as Canada. Of course he didn't know the answer to these questions off the top of his head. Piggybacking on your point, he was too busy to answer me right away and he didn't get back to me until months and months later. I had assumed that he already knew that there was no such thing available to him in the United States when I originally asked the question in person. Well, when we got back to him on our next scheduled visitation over 6 months later, he confirmed that there were no vaccinations available to him that were just the antivirus. In other words, of the dozens of vaccinations they administer all of them had some sort of additives.

The research I’ve read doesn’t support the efficacy of the flu vaccine. IMO, a strong argument could be made that the risks outweigh the benefits. It’s mandatory at my facility, believe it’s bullshite. Hospitals will almost force their staff to come to work when ill, but they also force the flu shot on us?

Touro doesn't make it mandatory we take them, but if we don't, we have to walk around the hospital with a mask on for the entire flu season...
I take it because I have kids in grammar school. I catch more shite from them than I do patients at work...
This is a great example that should be a red flag. They are trying to shame you into taking the shot. Lets break this down:
1) Wearing a mask does help prevent transmission.
2) It is known the flu shot is highly inefficient at best. it does not prevent the spread of flu and you are still susceptible.
3) if they really cared about preventing all flu transmission, everyone should be wearing a mask regardless of whether or not they have had a flu shot. So why don't they?
Common sense says they don't really care about preventing the spread of the flu, they just want you taking the shot.

No, I work at a research hospital. We get flu shots.
We do have a couple of tin foil hat wearing morons that work in human resources, and even they begrudgingly get their flu shot.

Lol. I’m not sure they were ever recommended. Cdawg and I are just old and that kind of stuff was common place.
I’m sure I went to some kids house on Columbus Air Force Bass that had the chicken pox and played lawn darts.

Not based one evidence anyway but older generations sure did do it quite a bit so they were recommended by someone!

Agreed. Most are pro vaccine safety, not anti-vax.
One thing you can do is find Thimerasol free vaccines and space out the applications. You can at least eliminate the mercury exposure with these.

Show me the evidence. Direct me to a peer reviewed study. What are your qualifications.

Sure. What are you wondering about?

Essentia has told employees, volunteers, students and vendors that they have three options: get the flu shot, get an approved religious or medical exemption, or leave Essentia.
Its retarded. The number one threat to patients is employees (doctors included) not washing their hands and poor housekeeping. The flu shot is one of those feel good things and is a crap shoot at best. Most employees do not wash their hands as required. The hospital should spend their effort to ensure 100% compliance on hygiene and sanitation before that effin flu shot.

What are your qualifications? What are you trained in? Where do you get your information? What peer reviewed evidence have you read?

The flu vaccine, being a “flu cocktail" shot is highly effective at preventing whichever strains are included in that years vaccine.

Small pox?
TB?
Mumps?
Chicken pox?
Measles?
Well I believe people still get those. Me and my brother had mumps chicken pox and measles and we're just fine. In fact, our immune systems are probably a lot stronger for it as neither one of us ever get any other kind of sicknesses.
Also, no one I know thats suspicious of vaccines has ever complained that vaccines don't do their job or that the vaccines themselves are a problem. As I stated in another post, it's everything else that is put in them to preserve the vaccines shelf life that people are worried about.
Also some of the things that they want you to get vaccinated for are absolutely ridiculous and clearly a money grab so that places the whole vaccine schedule in question. It's sad really because the good vaccines get thrown under the bus because people don't understand why their pediatrician is trying to give their infant a vaccine against a sexually transmitted disease. Then the parents go look at the quarterly report from Pfizer then go tell their pediatrician to get bent. Can you really blame the parents here? They don't have tin foil hats on, they are worried about their children, same as you.

My qualifications are irrelevant as I do not conduct studies. That is a silly request. You should be concerned about content not qualifications of some message board poster.
What evidence or studies are you interested in? Do you think the Flu Shot is 100% effective? Is that what you are getting at?

Negatory....but lets assume that is true.
that doesn't even address the issue. Influenza is a sloppy RNA replicator and mutates with every reproduction. how effective is blocking 3 or 4 strains when there are literally hundreds of strains active each year?

Essentia Health
I work for a hospital, I'm not even clinical, and if I don't get a flu shot by a certain date, I am suspended until I do, and if I don't get the flu shot 30 days after suspension, I am terminated.
What's the issue?

Your qualifications are relevant when discussing “evidence” on matters of public health and medicine.
I never said the flu shot was 100% effective and that’s not what the argument is over.
And even if it is 50%, this reduces the #of cases, hospitalizations, deaths, medical costs, loss of production and economic impact of the flu virus.
So I am concerned about the content quality of yours posts...that is exactly why I want to know the quality of the evidence you are reading.

Answer the questions or get off your soap box a-hole.

Lets go with this. Lets assume it is 50% effective. If the hospital was really concerned about preventing the spread of influenza, is this acceptable when they could FURTHER reduce the spread by having personnel wear masks?
I think you would agree that yes, wearing a mask would help since it is possible for those who took the shot to still get the flu.
So, if the hospital is so concerned about preventing the flu why not require the vaccine AND wear a mask? Isn't the patient supposed to be the priority?
