There is absolutely no reason to force the flu shot on people. This is sad on so many levels.

This thread belongs with the flat earth and vaccines give you autism BS.

I should be surprised, but it's disheartening that so many people are so ignorant.

My qualifications are irrelevant as I do not conduct studies. That is a silly request. You should be concerned about content not qualifications of some message board poster.

What evidence or studies are you interested in? Do you think the Flu Shot is 100% effective? Is that what you are getting at?

Its funny that just about every health care professional in this thread says a flu shot is mandatory as a term of their employment and other non health care professionals are arguing with them about it.

You realize that label doesn’t say the vaccine causes autism?

Only that someone reported it. Thanks to Jenny McCarthy, peope such as yourself are convinced that to be a fact.

No, I work at a research hospital. We get flu shots.

We do have a couple of tin foil hat wearing morons that work in human resources, and even they begrudgingly get their flu shot.

Then maybe the research geniuses can explain why there are people who get a flu shot, that still get the flu.

You do realize that the time you get the flu shot.....is during respiratory season?

So did it cross your mind that maybe, just maybe....the shot didn’t make you sick. That you just got sick at a time of year when many others also get sick with numerous other respiratory illnesses that are NOT the flu?

But that would mean using basic common sense wouldn’t it?

Im not sure who pissed in your cheerios this morning, but you must be one brilliant person to not know a thing about me yet you know when I supposedly got the flu shot. Throughout my life, Ive been lucky in that Im very rarely ever sick. There were no symptoms prior to getting the shot. We just switched oc-med companies and they offered free flu shots to the office staff once the deal was done. So with having no experience with this vaccine, I decided to get it. This was around 15 years ago so Im pretty sure the vaccination has been updated. You dont think that maybe..... just maybe..... there were people who had side effects to the flu shot when it wasnt extremely common like it is now? Probably not since that would be basic common sense right?

Look I get it that with your occupation, you are all in for the flu shot and thats perfectly fine. My wife gets her flu shot every year bc she works at a hospital. Luckily I dont work anywhere that would require this so Im certainly not getting it if I dont absolutely have to. If others want the shot, go ahead. If they dont want to, then they don't get it.

My favorite part is not understanding the trials just means that years batch. Since it's educated guess work at which ones to put into the vaccine that year.

Dear JOHNN,

It is impossible to get the flu from the flu vaccine.

I mean, is it really that complicated? The flu shot only covers estimated strains based on when it's manufactured. At the same time, people also often confuse their immune response to the flu shot as "the shot making me sick".

It's kind of silly how few people understand those basic concepts.

I'm gonna stop you there chief, the vaccines for influenza were started in the 1930's and started branching out large scale during the war. By mid 40s it was available anywhere in the US and the 70s brought in a bigger push.

A) Causation vs correlation

B) That is outdated information for Fluvalal. You also should familiarize yourself with efficacy vs. effectiveness with respect to vaccines.

if you don't get the shot and catch the flu it will last about 14 days, if you do get the shot and happen to catch the flu it will last about 2 weeks.

Exactly my point. It's also exactly everyone else's point.
They
Dont
fricking
Know
We are human fricking guinea pigs for the bottom line. Sure does look like they're covering their arse though doesn't it?

Do you really think they're above concealment and collusion? Are you that naive?

First off, other than that blonde from the 90s on the show Singled Out, I don't know anything about Jenny McCarthy. My TV isn't tuned into Talk Shows and E! TV., I don't even have cable.

Second, I'm not convinced of any facts. That's my point. Y'all are so convinced of something you know nothing about. We are simply asking questions and when none are forthcoming it raises red flags.

I really think this is less about the facts and more about certain personality types. There seems to be a large contingent of the human population that is willing and able to accept Dogma from many institutions they feel are respectable and above reproach. Then there the rest of us. Questioners. People with a curious enough mind to study history and read between the lines and dig into subjects a little deeper then what so-and-so told us.

Big tobacco ran all kinds of campaigns to fight against findings that their product was a problem. Manufacturers of asbestos products did the same when asbestos was found to be a problem. The list goes on and on. What makes you think anything in the health care industry would be any different?

People who get the flu shot are 40-60% less likely to get the flu than those who go without it. Additionally, those who get the flu shot and still get the flu have milder cases than those who go without it.
