Now I think we agree. Look fellas, my only point is that I don't trust the medical industry and there's lots of reasons to be cautious. Whenever there's a profit motive involved credibility is going to be Central.
I'm very much of the mentality that if it ain't broke don't fix it. All the things these kids get vaccinated for, I'm not really concerned with when it comes to my kids. But I am very concerned with potential side effects of the vaccinations. If they were to get chicken pox, mumps, Etc I would treat it then with the help of the Miracles of modern science but the potential risks are a bigger concern to me than the probability of actually Contracting these viruses and their rather inocuos or non-existent long-term effects or risk of fatality.
They begged my wife to get the vitamin K shot for our kids when they were born. I did a little digging and the chances of there being a fatality are Slimmer than the chance of being struck by lightning, while riding on a great white shark on your birthday

It goes from 2% to 1%.

Personally, I have decided to question EVERYTHING. Makes me sound pretty dang cool, smart and edgy doesn't it? Especially when I question things that I'm not an expert in and actually question the experts. Because, I mean, what do they really know?
As to your earlier question, Rebel. Yes. But all I do is push numbers around so the really smart folks can do what they do.

Because I'm not making any claims of certainty. I'm only claiming that I don't know and that I'm a constant skeptic. That's a healthy viewpoint to have. It's dangerous to believe, in lockstep, and everything you're ever told regardless of the source

Well now knowing you work at one of the world leaders in reaearch and your employer thinks it prudent to require and furnish flu shots for its employees, it’s probably a pretty damn good idea for me to get one.
I’ll be stopping in some time next week to pick up Christmas cards I send to our customers.

So you don’t think being paralyzed because you have polio is a thing to be concerned about? Do you realize how contagious polio was and how scary it was to parents in the early 50s? Imagine no vaccine had come along.
My father got polio as a kid (BEFORE the vaccine was available). He’s one of the lucky ones in that while he was permanently disfigured from it....he just had to completely relearn how to walk as a child after being wheelchair bound for a little bit. I just saw an article recently about grown adults that got polio as kids that STILL rely on iron lungs to breathe.

Please don't quote me some article from some Institution such as the CDC which document after document has shown to be an unreliable and Industry biased source. Not always of course. But certainly from time to time and I don't know about you but once somebody violates my trust it's very hard to earn it back.
I mean, if facts from medical professionals aren't going to convince you, what would? Obviously, you're the type of person who is so irrationally skeptical, you will find an issue with any report placed in front of you.

I don't understand your question.
If there were a vaccine that eliminated all strains of influenza from the face of the earth, of course that would be significant and a worthy thing to do.
Much like polio vaccines were a worthy thing to do.
Call me when this is the case for influenza.
